As the robotic voice of the Pokedex app identified the angry insect Pokemon, Raido's eyes widened in recognition.
"Sewaddle," the Pokedex announced, its voice clear and concise.
Raido listened intently as the Pokedex provided a brief description of the bug-like Pokemon, detailing it's appearance and habits. "Sewaddle, the sewing Pokemon. This Pokemon makes clothes for itself out of leaves. It is skilled at weaving and uses it's sharp leaf to defend itself. Sewaddle is a Grass and Bug type Pokemon."
"Grass and Bug type, huh?" Raido muttered to himself, his mind racing as he recalled his teachings at PokeSchool. He realised that Sewaddle's Grass typing meant that it would be weak to Poison type moves, a realisation that filled him with a surge of confidence. With Nidoran being a Poison type Pokemon, Raido felt optimistic about their chances in a battle.
But despite his confidence, Raido's nerves began to settle in as he faced his first-ever wild Pokemon battle. He pondered how to approach the situation, his mind racing with strategies and tactics.
Meanwhile, the wild Sewaddle remained furious and ready to attack, it's sharp leaf raised in a threatening manner. Raido and Nidoran shared an affirming nod, their determination unwavering as they prepared to face their first real test as a team.
"Get ready, Nidoran!" Raido's voice rang out, as he prepared for the first move, "Let's win our first battle!" A moment of tension passed by, the gentle breeze carrying blades of grass across the green verge where they faced off against Sewaddle.
"Okay, Nidoran, start us off strong with Scratch!" Raido commanded, his voice echoing with urgency. Nidoran nodded in response, her eyes gleaming with a fiery confidence as she charged at Sewaddle. With a swift leap, she lunged into the air, claws glinting in the sunlight. But to Raido's surprise, Sewaddle evaded the attack with unexpected speed, darting out of the way just in time.
Before Raido could react, Sewaddle retaliated with a fierce tackle, slamming into Nidoran from the side and sending her skidding across the grass. Raido gritted his teeth, watching as Nidoran got back to her feet and shook herself off. It was already clear that this battle wouldn't be an easy victory.
"Nidoran, let's switch it up with Tail Whip!" Raido instructed, determined to turn the tide in their favour. Once again, Nidoran charged towards Sewaddle, her tail poised to strike. But just before the attack could land, Sewaddle dodged with impeccable timing, proving to be a formidable first opponent.
As Nidoran spun around, Sewaddle countered with String Shot, launching sticky strands of webbing that ensnared Nidoran and pinned her to the ground. Raido watched in dismay as Nidoran struggle fruitlessly against the sticky trap.
Before he could intervene, Sewaddle charged up a powerful tackle, rushing forward with vengeance. It delivered a devastating blow that sent Nidoran flying across the grassy battlefield with a pained cry. Raido winced as he saw the critical hit land, knowing it must have damaged Nidoran substantially.
Covered in dirt and sticky webbing, Nidoran staggered to her feet, wobbling slightly. Both Raido and Nidoran could see that this wild Sewaddle meant business, and they would need to dig deep if they wanted to emerge victorious from this fierce opening battle in the world of Pokemon.
