The victorious trainer approached her fallen opponent, offering a hand to help him up. Despite his earlier frustration, the blue-haired man accepted the gesture, shaking her hand with a begrudging respect.
As the redheaded trainer and her Abomasnow bowed to the ecstatic crowd, a pair of reporters quickly made their way through the throng. Gabbie, a lively presenter with a bright smile, and Ty, her steadfast cameraman, introduced themselves as representatives of Johto TV.
"Lorelei! Lorelei!" Gabbie called, waving energetically as she approached the trainer. "I'm Gabbie from Johto TV, and this is my cameraman, Ty. Would you mind answering a few questions for our viewers?"
Lorelei, adjusting her glasses with a graceful hand, nodded calmly. "Of course, Gabbie," she replied, her voice smooth and composed.
Gabbie beamed. "Thank you! So, Lorelei, how has your time in Johto been so far?"
Lorelei smiled, her expression serene. "I've been enjoying my time here immensely. It's been wonderful meeting new trainers and encountering a variety of Pokémon I wouldn't normally see in Kanto. The more relaxed and flexible lifestyle here has been a pleasant change from my previous responsibilities."
Gabbie nodded enthusiastically, glancing at Abomasnow with admiration. "Your Abomasnow displayed incredible power and skill in that battle. Can you give us an analysis of the match and perhaps some advice for aspiring Pokémon trainers watching the show?"
Lorelei's eyes gleamed with pride as she looked at her Abomasnow, who stood stoically by her side. "Raw power isn't always the answer," she began, her tone measured and thoughtful. "A skilled trainer will always analyze the battlefield to see how it can be used to their advantage.
In this case, I created a floor of ice to hinder Gallade's movement and composure. It's crucial to recognize how external factors outside of your Pokémon's power level can be utilized to turn the tide of even the toughest battles."
Raido, standing in the crowd with wide eyes, listened intently. He was thrilled to be receiving advice from Lorelei, a previous member of the Kanto Elite Four. He felt a spark of inspiration as he absorbed her words of wisdom.
"You hear that, girl?" Raido whispered to Nidoran, who was perched on his shoulder. "Let's keep this useful advice in mind."
Nidoran chirped happily in response, her eyes shining with determination.
Gabbie continued the interview, her excitement palpable. "That's incredible insight, Lorelei! Your strategic thinking was truly impressive. Do you have any specific tips for new trainers trying to find their footing in the world of Pokémon battles?"
Lorelei tilted her glasses thoughtfully before responding. "My advice to new trainers is to always be observant. Pay attention to your surroundings and your opponent's behavior. Learn to anticipate their moves and think creatively about how to counter them."
Raido felt a surge of determination. He was honored to be part of the crowd listening to such invaluable advice from a renowned and skilled trainer. He looked at Nidoran with renewed resolve. "We've got a lot to work on, but I know we can do it," he said with a smile.
As the interview wrapped up, Lorelei and her Abomasnow received another round of applause from the spectators. The crowd slowly began to disperse, the excitement lingering in the air. Raido felt inspired and ready to continue his journey, armed with the wisdom he had gleaned from watching such an extraordinary battle and hearing from one of the best trainers in the world.
As the commotion calmed down and Raido turned to walk back to the Pokémon Center, he heard someone shouting his name from across the crowd. "Raido! Raido!" The voice continued to call out, persistent and filled with warmth. Battling through the dispersing crowd, a lady with flowing pink hair and a large flower tucked into it finally emerged. She wore a multicolored, floaty dress that danced around her as she moved. As she got closer, Raido's eyes lit up with recognition.
"Harley!" Raido exclaimed, a smile spreading across his face. She ran up and hugged him tightly, the scent of flowers emanating from her as she embraced him.
"Oh, Raido, I haven't seen you for so long! Look how big you've gotten!" Harley said, her voice filled with affection. She held him at arm's length, looking him over with a mixture of pride and nostalgia.
"It's nice to see you again, Harley," Raido replied, returning the hug warmly. He always had a soft spot for his mother's close friend, who often brought him plushies of his favorite Pokémon when she visited during his younger years.
Harley's eyes softened as she looked down at Nidoran. "And who is this little cutie?" she asked, kneeling down to rub Nidoran's soft head. Nidoran responded happily, sensing Harley's warm nature.
"This is my partner, Nidoran," Raido introduced, proud of his companion.
Harley smiled, her eyes twinkling. "You must be so tired from your journey here." She stood up, brushing a strand of pink hair behind her ear. "You simply must come back to my place for some food and tea immediately. You need to rest and rejuvenate."
Raido's stomach rumbled at the mention of food, and he couldn't resist the offer. "That sounds great, Harley. Thank you," he said, gratefully accepting.
With a cheerful nod, Harley led the way, and they began to head towards her humble house by Cherrygrove Lake. The path was lined with vibrant flowers, and the serene lake shimmered in the afternoon sun. Raido felt a sense of peace wash over him as he walked beside Harley and Nidoran, feeling fortunate to have such a kind and caring figure in his life.
