Tails took a deep breath. It was a pretty nice day. Especially without the looming threat of Eggman or Super going crazy. It was finally time to relax some. Sure Knuckles would probably kick them all off Angel Island soon, but for now Tails could enjoy the extra company. Plus he was pretty sure the echidna wouldn't force them to leave while everyone was still recovering. That did mean that the others had to deal with Sonic and Super's new... partnership. The two were definitely still working things out, but Tails knew that wouldn't happen overnight. Progress was being made at least.

Tails' thoughts paused as he heard... giggling? Well more like cackling. As he listened closer he could hear banging... Oh. Oh boy. With a sigh he made his way over to the still assembled machine they'd used to trap Super. It had been agreed that they'd leave it there just in case Super got out of control again. Knuckles wasn't too happy at the development but accepted it after some convincing.

As the machine came into sight Tails couldn't help but laugh, though he quickly got it under control. He really shouldn't be laughing but... "Ha! How does it feel to be the one to be tricked huh edgehog?" Super spread his arms wide, a cocky smirk on his face as he faced down Shadow who was stuck in the glass ball. A quick look over the control panel told Tails that it was on, so Shadow was effectively trapped until someone turned it off.

"Let me out of here." Shadow growled, slamming a fist against the glass again.

Super tapped his chin as he made it look like he was thinking about it. "I don't know... that machine is pretty complicated. I don't even think I could turn it off..." He grinned slyly at the trapped hedgehog.

"You clearly turned it on!" Shadow pinned his ears against his head. "Otherwise you wouldn't have tried to goad me into using chaos control!"

Well that made sense Tails supposed. He wasn't entirely sure how Super had managed to figure out how to get the machine on though. Maybe Sonic helped? Clearly the hedgehog was alright with what was happening since he didn't appear to be trying to stop Super at the moment. He probably found the situation just as funny as Super did. Also possibly saw the whole thing as better than Super trying to fight Shadow.

He watched Super continue to taunt Shadow for a few more moments. He should... probably step in right? Instead of just turning off the machine he wandered over to the two hedgehogs. "So uh... what seems to be going on here?"

Super shot him a grin, clearly aware that the fox could have just turned off the machine but hadn't. "Oh you know. Just hanging out with my best bud." Super leaned against the glass and Shadow growled. "Trying to... move past our differences."

"Tails turn this machine off so I can get out of here." Shadow pinned Tails with a look that made it seem like he was very aware Tails had chosen not to turn off the machine.

"No no. Tails can't help you right now." Super slung an arm over Tails' shoulders. The movement was hesitant and kind of stiff, but Tails was pretty sure that was because Super wanted to make sure not to hurt him. "Lots of important super smart fox things to do I'm sure."

"Don't speak for him, body snatcher." Shadow turned a glare on Super. The golden hedgehog seemed entirely unfazed.

"Yes yes, you're very intimidating." Super inspected the hand that wasn't around Tails' shoulders, looking almost bored. "But remind me who's in the ball again?" Super looked up with a cocky grin.

Shadow put his forehead against the glass and sighed in frustration. "Sonic! How can you be allowing this?" He tried.

Super looked up for a moment, eyes unfocusing. Tails supposed that Sonic was probably saying something. "He says this is better than the alternative." Super chuckled darkly. "I disagree, but I can live with the compromise."
