Shadow stared into the darkness of the now collapsed cave. The only light the faint glow from the still passed out Super beside him. The hedgehog was alive, he'd made sure to check, but hadn't woken up for the better part of an hour. At least Shadow was fairly certain it had been that long; it was hard to tell time in near complete darkness. Admittedly he felt... sort of bad. He hadn't managed to realize just how panicked Super was getting until he'd managed to push the other hedgehog over the edge. He may not like the body snatcher but it didn't feel good to drive someone to the point where they were that desperate. Perhaps he should have listened instead of jumping to conclusions. Clearly something was wrong but he'd let his mistrust of Super get in the way of figuring out what was going on.

He sighed in frustration. Hopefully the golden hedgehog would wake up soon. Maybe then he could actually figure out what was going on and the two could get out of here. He rested his head against one of the cave walls. Nothing to do now but wait and hope that the poorly attempted chaos blast hadn't been too harsh on Super.

As Super came back into consciousness he really wished he hadn't. Everything hurt and he felt so tired and drained. It was shocking that he was still somehow in control honestly. He attempted to slip back into unconsciousness; that felt better than being awake right now. "Don't you dare pass back out on me body snatcher." Oh joy, Shadow was still here.

"Why are you still here?" Super groaned as he curled into himself. Maybe that would somehow help with the pain.

"Well firstly as much as I don't like you I wasn't going to leave you like that." Shadow huffed.

"Nice to know you care so much." Super cracked his eyes open. It was dark and he felt himself freeze.

"Secondly thanks to the little stunt you pulled, we happen to be stuck." Shadow looked down at him with a slightly annoyed expression.

Super decided to focus on Shadow to keep himself calm. Probably not the best strategy he had, but it was his best shot right now. Slowly, and painfully, he pushed himself up to be sitting against the wall. "A stunt I wouldn't have tried to pull if you hadn't cornered me." He grit out.

Shadow hummed. "I suppose you're right."

Super blinked in surprise as he grasped onto his head. "Am I still way too out of it or did you actually agree with me?"

"Don't get used to it." Shadow crossed his arms and looked away. "Though I have realized looking back that this could have been avoided if I'd let you try to explain yourself."

Super pinned his ears down. "Now you realize it..."

"You have to realize though that my actions didn't come from nowhere." Shadow flicked an ear. "Though I can admit that I was wrong to not let you explain yourself. Care to do so now? Not like we have anything better to do."

"What? Can't bust out of here or just use chaos control Mr. Ultimate Lifeform?" Super reluctantly pulled his hand away from his head.

"Somehow your attempted chaos blast created some sort of... chaos energy dead zone. It's made this place almost as effective a trap as the one the fox originally designed to hold you. The effect should fade over time but I'm not sure how long it will take." Shadow frowned. "As for busting out the rock cover is thick and without the aid of any chaos powers it would take days perhaps to get through it." He glanced down at Super. "Especially since you likely won't be much help for a while."

As much as Super wanted to refute that claim it wouldn't make a difference. Shadow was, unfortunately, right about that. With how he felt right now he likely wouldn't be able to do much of anything for a while, especially if he couldn't recharge himself with a decent supply of chaos energy. "What even happened anyway? I know I attempted to use that chaos blast thing you did to me once but it's fuzzy after that."
