「 Episode 307 - 308, On the Trail of a Silent Witness (part one and two)_⌫」

In which Reisamu is a few steps ahead of Edogawa Conan, and in which sexual tension and feelings seems to grow between her and a certain FBI agent.

This chapter happens a few hours before episode 307 actually, the episode tag is merely context.

Reisamu sat on a high stool in the kitchen, a laptop on the island counter as it displayed multiple camera feedbacks. In Mouri's Agency, there wasn't much happening. It was still early in the morning anyways so there weren't cases yet. But Mouri was already binge watching on the TV.

Another tab was opened on the screen, this time it was the interrogation video that Akai sent that the FBI did on her behest, they were able to retrieve some useful yet confusing information from Numabuchi. Another tab was a video call with the FBI agents who patiently waited for her to speak.

The pink haired girl was mixing a cup of milk, the smell filling her nose as it relaxed her. "It's no surprise the information from Numabuchi is filled with holes and incomplete, he wasn't a full-fledged member in the organization after all, he didn't even get his nickname before he decided to leave." She said with a sigh, a bit disappointing but not really surprising. "Be sure to send him back my way when you're 100% done with him." She added, she was the one who found him, the one that struck a deal with him, so he was her responsibility.

"H-hold on- Why should we give Numabuchi-san with you, he'll be much safer with us." Jodie intervened appearing in the video call. "Hello again Jodie-sensei it has been awhile, a shame we couldn't properly chat when we met at the arcade." Reisamu said raising her mug as if to toast to meeting each other again.

Reisamu had long been aware of Jodie's identity. They met a handful of times already in the states, "I almost forgot about you to be honest." She admitted setting her mug down. Reisamu didn't pay much attention to Jodie in the past due to their jobs. But now, she supposed it wouldn't hurt teasing the young woman.

"You-"

"The FBI is illegally operating in the country, besides the only reason you have Numabuchi-san is due to my intervention, I also made a deal with him, so it is my responsibility. With your limited resources and manpower, it is best if you leave him to me." Reisamu cut her off, golden eyes staring at the FBI agents on the other side of the call.

Akai remained silent, leaning on the wall of what she assumed to be the hotel they set up as a meeting point. James sat in front of the camera, arms crossed as he mulled his words over and Jodie stood at the left of James, hands on the table as she was a bit frustrated, the blonde haired woman was starting to get annoyed at her.

"Alright." James conceded knowing she was right. "Are you serious?" Jodie asked surprised at her superior. "It would be less hassle on us, and I don't doubt that she has more resources and manpower than us." He explained to her.

"She's no longer working in any Gifted organization-"

"Jodie" Akai stopped her from continuing causing the woman to pout and sigh, she was forced to let this go. "Don't be too pouty Akai, I get where she's coming from." Reisamu giggled in amusement "Jodie-sensei has only ever met me when I was still in that guild, realistically I should be just as powerless as you FBI since I don't have any legal grounds or backing but I made a lot of connections, and have a good number of people under my belt working for me. They are adjusted and can tolerate people like Numabuchi-san, so they'll be able to rehabilitate him and watch him without worry." she explained, a hand on her chest as she stared at Jodie who bit her lips.
