CHAPTER 5

After Jisoo's discussion with her mom, she decided that she would go pay a visit to her dad's company to see for herself how things have been running and maybe during her stay here she might take care of things in the Company herself while her mom would take a break.

Haein called her later that evening as he had promised. They stayed up talking over the phone before Jisoo  felt tired and said goodbye. She retired to sleep that night in anticipation of her visit to the company the next day because she hadn't been there in a long time.

Jisoo woke up early the next morning so she could prepare herself and arrive at the company early. She asked David to prepare the car because he would be the one driving her to the company. She wore a grey pantsuit with black stilettos and a black handbag.

She arrived at the company early
like she had planned to because she
didn't want to arrive at time when
the company would be filled with its
employees and bring a lot of attention
to herself. As she walked in, she was
greeted by the few workers that had
arrived. She sent for the manager
because she needed him to give her
updates on the company's progress
and also an insight into what the
company had been like during her
absence, both the pros and cons.

Jisoo asked the manager to give her a tour around the company for  inspection. The company Jisoo  inherited from her dad was a company that dealt mainly with gadgets and that was the reason why she had always been scared of running it because she had no idea or experience with those kinds of things but she was lucky that the company's
manager was a close friend of her
dad. He had promised to guide her
on everything she needed to know
concerning the company whenever she was ready and would help her in any area she may find difficult.

After inspecting the company and
going through some of the files Jisoo
was exhausted so she decided to go
home and rest because she felt all she
had done enough for the day. She
arrived home and went straight to her
room to take a shower. After she was
done showering, she went to the living room with the rest of the files she hadn't studied, so she could take a good look at them.

Her mom had gone out to see a friend
so she was told by one of the maids.
She was home alone so she texted
Haein asking him how his day went
and also telling him about how hers
went. She asked him if he had hired a
new secretary yet, but he said he still
hadn't found one. They ended their
text when Haein told her that he was
going to attend to some minor issues
and promised he'd call her as soon as
he was less busy.

Her mom got back home later in the
day. She saw Jisoo  in the living room
with some files, so she went to join her.

"Busy?"

Jisoo  lifted her head away from the
files at the sound of her mom's voice.

"Not really, I'm just going through
these," she replied.

"So, how was your visit?"

"Well. It went well. I'm really glad
Craig is the manager at least he'll be
flexible with me when explaining things."

"It's just a day and you're already tired. Really?" Her mom said with a slight chuckle.

"Okay, mom, don't mock me. You know I have no experience on this one."

"Okay, I won't." Her mom replied while raising her hand in surrender.

"Honey?"

"Yes, mom."

"Chaeyoung has been asking about you for quite a while now."

Jisoo  was surprised to hear that
name. She  was her past now, her mom should know that.

"I didn't want to say anything about
her over the phone because you may
take it the wrong way... So, I decided
that I'd rather tell you in person."

"What does she want?"

"She only wants to see you, Jisoo. Is
Is that an offense?"

"No Mom, it's not an offense. But she's
my ex now, you should know that."

"No one ever said I didn't."

"Please, Mom, tell me she isn't the
reason you asked me to come home?"

Jisoo asked because she knew her
mom could do such a thing.

"No honey, why would you think that?" Her mom sighed then continued.

"I asked you to come back home
because I needed you around and also
to have an idea of your dad's company but Chaeyoung  still cares about you, honey...

I may not know why she wants to see
you, but from the looks of it, she's
Sorry." her mom said.

Jisoo didn't want to see her and she
didn't know why her mom had to bring her up.

"Mom, can we not talk about this now? I'm trying to concentrate on these files." Jisoo  said trying to dismiss the topic

"Okay, honey. I was just giving you a
heads up of what you needed to know, So don't be too surprised if she comes around"
