CHAPTER 7

Jisoo  woke up the next morning
feeling lazy, so she decided that she
wouldn't go to the company that day. She dragged herself downstairs because she was really hungry. She
went into the kitchen and saw that the maids were still making breakfast.

"Good morning, ma'am." They greeted
Jisoo on seeing her.

She smiled in reply and took an apple
just to quench her hunger for the
meantime then headed to the living
room. She sat on the couch and tried
calling Haein but there was no answer, so she figured he'd be busy.

Jisoo heard a knock on the door and
wondered who it could be this early
in the morning. She decided to get
the door since the maids were busy.
She opened the door and saw Chaeyoung, she was surprised to see her. Chaeyoung was staring at Jisoo  then she became conscious that she was still in her night dress, and she began trying to cover up herself.

Chaeyoung smirked at her action. Jisoo became red with embarrassment, she tried using her hair to cover her face but failed terribly.

"Um... Hi," she said nervously.

"Hi," Chaeyoung replied smiling at how bashful she was.

"Come in," she said gesturing her  to
come inside.  Chaeyoung entered and sat on the couch.

Jisoo  was still uncomfortable with
the fact that she was wearing only her
nightdress in the presence of a woman , not just any woman but her ex girlfriend.

"Um, could you excuse me for a minute while I go change?"

"Sure," Chaeyoung  replied with a chuckle.

Jisoo rushed upstairs to her room.
As soon as she closed the door, she
breathed a sigh of relief, glad that she
was no longer in front of her.

After changing from her nightdress,
she decided to wash her face to get
rid of the excess flush she couldn't
control. She wrapped her hair in a
messy bun because she was already
hot just thinking about the incident.
She composed herself and went
downstairs. She was still a little
nervous about having Chaeyoung  at her place because they never spoke to each other after the breakup.

"Hi," she said again to Chaeyoung. She  smiled at how nervous she was.

"You already said that before," she said making Jisoo  red with embarrassment and she regretted wrapping her hair in a bun.

"Really? Sorry about that... Um, so?..
Um, what would you like to drink?" She asked trying to take her attention away from her but it didn't work because she was still staring at her.

"Anything would be fine," she said.

"Okay, give me a second," she then left
for the kitchen.

"Mary, could you get me something to
drink?"

"Okay, ma'am. What would you like?"

"It's not necessarily for me, it's for
my guest but she says she's fine with
anything. I don't know what to get for
her... Have you got any options?"

"You can have coffee, tea, juice, or
whatever it is you feel like drinking,"
Mary replied smiling at how innocent
Jisoo  acts sometimes.

"Okay then, maybe wine... No, wine
would be too strong for the morning,
so I'd prefer a glass of pineapple juice."

"Okay, ma'am. I'll get it for you."

"Thanks, Mary, you're such a darling,"
she said to Mary who smiled at her and then went to the refrigerator to get the juice.

Jisoo  left the kitchen and went back
to the living room, she sat on the
same couch as Chaeyoung  but kept a little distance between them.

"Um, so....?" She started,

"How have you been?" Chaeyoung asked knowing that she was still lost for words. She smiled at his question
knowing that he was trying to help her feel comfortable around her because she knew she was nervous right now.

"Fine, fine. I'm doing great," she
replied.

"You?" She asked.

"I'm okay." In his reply Mary walked into the living room with the juice and Laura thanked her then she left.

"So... um?" She managed to utter,
mentally cursing herself for not being
able to put herself together.

"I've been here several times but your
mom said you hadn't visited," Chaeyoung  said.

"Yeah... I've been busy.. You know,
work and all."

At that moment, her mom walked into
the living room.

"Hey honey, you're already awake...
Oh, Chaeyoung! I didn't know you were here." She said smiling at Chaeyoung.

"I just arrived a while ago."

"It's so good to see you again... And I'm glad you finally get to see Jisoo."

Jisoo forced a smile at her mom's
statement. She knew this was her
mom's doing.

"Okay, honey. I'm going shopping.. I
thought we could do it together but
I see you're busy at the moment so
maybe next time. I'll see you later."
Her mom left after saying goodbye.

Jisoo knowing that she was now alone
with Chaeyoung  felt so transparent and wished that her mom didn't have to go for that so-called shopping of hers.
