CHAPTER 17

It was a Saturday afternoon, Jisoo
was in the bathroom taking a shower
while Haein was on the bed when
Jisoo's phone began ringing. Haein
contemplated whether or not to pick
up the call or just ignore it. After
several rings, he decided to pick up the call.

"Hello," he said.

Then he heard an unfamiliar voice at
the other end of the phone.

"Hello. Who is this?" Chaeyoung  asked when she heard a male voice instead of that of Jisoo's voice.

"Im Jung Haein, Jisoo's fiancé. May I know who is calling?" Haein replied.

Chaeyoung got angry just hearing the name of the man who was present with the woman he adored. He took a deep breath to control his anger and then said,

"I'm Park Chaeyoung. May I speak to Jisoo ?"

That name rang a bell to Haein. He
suddenly remembered that Chaeyoung  was the name of Jisoo's ex-Girlfriend, she had mentioned that before.

At that moment, Jisoo  came out of
the bathroom. Haein began looking at
Jisoo  suspiciously.

Jisoo, on the other hand, was wondering why Haein  was staring at
her in such a manner.

"Hello?Are you still there?"
Chaeyoung  asked when Haein didn't give him a reply.

Then Haein said,

"She isn't home." And he hung up still
looking at Jisoo.

"Why is Chaeyoung  calling you?" He then asked her.

Jisoo  was surprised at his question.
She wondered why he had to go ahead and pick up her call.

"Jisoo, why is your ex calling you?" He
asked with anger now in his voice.

"That's none of your business." She
replied while walking into the closet
with Haein  following her behind.

"Besides, why did you pick up my call?" She asked now turning around to face him.

"Oh, so it's none of my business?... So,
this was the reason you went to LA
claiming you wanted to go see your
mom...I should've known."

Jisoo was shocked. She couldn't believe that he just accused her of cheating.

"Haein, what are you implying?" She
asked just to make sure she didn't
come up with her conclusions.

"Don't pretend like you don't know
what I'm talking about" he angrily
said.

Jisoo  got furious and slapped him
hard across the face.

Haein  was surprised at what Jisoo
just did and so was she. She had no
idea what came over her but she had
to make him understand that he had
crossed the limits.

"Haein, I'm-"

"Save it," he said walking out of the
room and leaving the house.

Jisoo  felt bad for what she did. She
should've tried talking to him so they
would work things out rather she just
made things worse. She decided to give him a call.

She called him several times but he wasn't picking up. She sent voice messages but he didn't reply. She
became worried wondering where he
might be.
