LEAVING was easier than they thought.

typically when wanting to leave an event or party, you can either a.) sneak out noticed or b.) exchange a proper goodbye and see how long it takes for them to actually let you go.

the guys were too caught up in their havoc to give them any trouble, besides tanner who had made obnoxious kissing noises as the two made their way to the door.

getting to his car, he opened up the passenger side for erin who was a few steps behind him. schlatt then walks over to his side, starting the car before buckling himself in.

"you can connect your phone to the bluetooth if you want."

"heck yeah!" erin exclaims as she clicks onto her phones settings to pair it with his car. "which one is it?"

schlatt leans over to his right, enough to where their shoulders were touching. the fabric of their clothes being the only layer separating their skin. he points to the second option but his eyes only linger on her phone screen for a moment before they drift up to her lips. they both freeze, their eyes locking in an intense gaze.

erin could have sworn she felt him leaning closer, her eyes closing slowly as she anticipated what she hoped would come next.

the tips of their noses brushing ever so slightly before schlatt stops suddenly, clearing his throat as he turns away. the look of confusion and uncertainty not leaving his eyes.

and with that the moment was gone, shattered as he cowered behind the steering wheel.  erin stared down at her phone speechless. no words daring to leave the lips that had nearly touched his.

she clicks onto her 'on repeat' spotify playlist. skipping the first few that were a little too lovey dovey given the current situation. but in all reality, a repeating track of erin screaming at the top of her lungs would be the most fitting.

occasionally muttering a few lyrics erin kept her focus on either her phone or other cars as they passed by.

schlatt on the other hand was having a hard time keeping his eyes in the road. he kept taking quick glances towards erin, burying his unspoken feelings under a facade of awkwardness and regret.
