AS the two sat on the couch, they couldn't get closer. literally.

schlatt had his back pressed against the arm of the couch, and his legs were kicked out infront of him. erin had her back curled against his chest as she continued to talk about the parts of her day that he had missed.

this wasn't an entirely comfortable position as erin's legs were slipping off the couch and the arm rest that schlatt had been leaning on wasn't even close to the idea of being soft - but neither of them seemed to mind as they soaked in each others presence.

schlatt watched as erin explained her story. he tried his best to pay attention, but the way the dimly lit loving room illuminated her face he found himself losing focus. just as ted had messaged, he was whipped.

he waited for the right moment to open up, not wanting to back out of the sole reason he drove all of this way. "hey rin?" he interrupted softly.

"hm?" erin hums as she cocks her head back slightly, leaning it on his chest at an angle so she could peer up at him through her lashes.

"i'm really sorry."

confused by the random apology erin sits up slowly, now facing him entirely. "what for?" she asks, puzzled. "you don't have anything to be sorry for."

"i do though," he starts again. "i don't think i've ever cared for someone as deeply as i care for you."

seeing that the conversation was now serious he lifted himself from the arm of the couch and pressed his back against the bigger supporting cushion, his gaze now locked on the tv against the wall.

"i really don't know why i thought we would be able to get away with what we had, especially since i was clearly the only one that was really on board with it.."

"it's not that i didn't w-" schlatt cuts erin off before she could finish. he knew that if he didn't get all of this off his chest now, he could keep back tracking.

"i want to be with you in every way possible." schlatt began to explain. "i don't know why it was so hard for me to admit that."

erin was baffled to say the least. placed her hand on top on his and she listened with a warm smile on her lips. he wasn't looking at her in the moment, but she could sense the vulnerability in the way that he spoke to her as if he was afraid to say too much or to little.
