"WELL hello." schlatt greets groggily as erin turns to face him.
it was barely eight thirty in the morning and he already had her blushing as the sound of his hoarse voice.
instead of replying, erin throws her arms forward and tucks her head into his chest. after a moment of comfort, she pulls her head back slightly to take a breath.
"what do you wanna do today?" she finally asks after she clears her voice.
schlatt ran his fingers through her hair as he thought to himself quietly. if anything
he wanted to stay like this for the entire evening, and then some."everything."
"everything?" she repeats with an arched brow.
schlatt laughs at her curiosity and his hands falter lower to her lower back, resting just below the waistband of her pajama pants causing her breath to hitch slightly at the touch of his calloused fingers.
"i do need to feed the pets though...." she trails off as she starts to untangle herself from him.
penny had still slept at the door of the bed, not caring that she had company. effie on the other hand had really played into the scaredy cat role and hadn't left her sacred corner of the bathroom.

erin couldn't help but day dream as she leaned over the kitchen sink to scrub the pet food bowls. this was a daily task of hers, but everything felt different this morning. she was getting a taste of having schlatt in her life, finally as more than just friends. this was something that she could get used to, something that she wanted to get used to.
erin wanted to be able to wake up in the morning in a bed that was accompanied by someone other than her pets. she wanted to be able to plan special dates and celebrate accomplishments. and most importantly, she wanted nothing more than to stress their need for communication no matter the distance that came between them.
schlatt on the other hand could sense her inner turmoil. despite the smile that had yet to fade from her face since he showed up at her front door last night, he knew she was fretting their goodbye. but, she wasn't the only one. he wasn't entirely familiar with what arlington texas had in store for entertainment, but schlatt took it upon himself to try and plan something for a day out.
joining her in the kitchen, he grabbed the clean bowls from the sink and offered to dry them off with one of the towels hanging on the handle of the oven. he wiped down the bowls and placed each of them back on the mats where the pets had their designated feeding areas.
"what do you think about watching a movie later?"
"what movie?" erin asks as she looks over to schlatt, the sun beaming through the window causing her to squint slightly.
"i'm not really sure what's playing to be honest." he shrugs as he dries off his hands. "i think it's just the same movies that have been out that they keep playing."
"oh you mean like actually go out!" erin says as she catches on to his plan. "we have two theaters in the area and they're usually pretty dead since one ticket and a bucket of popcorn is something you have to take a loan for, so we should be fine."
"i'm not too worried about it." he reassured with a smile.

"you can be the passenger princess this time." erin jokes as they walk out to where her car was parked.
"oh this day just got a million times better."
