LUKE was right.

Percy wasn't like the other demigods who found their way to Camp through their own merits, the help of a satyr or sheer luck.

Word of what happened by the bathrooms spread quickly.

Apparently, Percy was unlucky to meet Clarisse La Rue, one of Ares' daughters, God of War. Clarisse was mean, ruthless and probably could have been Amelia's friend if she hadn't made one of her siblings - after he got claimed - be embarrassed in sword class because he couldn't hold his sword properly, causing Amelia to disarm him three times in a row, all the while looking like he bored her to death.

Clarisse was proud too, sharing her father's pride and she would never back down from a fight; needless to say, her loyalty remained solely to her cabin, and once one of them got embarrassed, it was as if you were embarrassing her personally.

Amelia found too much fun within herself challenging Clarisse's siblings and getting them to lose against her. After all, besides Annabeth, Amelia was one of the few campers who had been at camp longer than anybody else, Annabeth winning over her with two years.

To say Amelia and Cabin Five didn't get along was an understatement.

So, when she heard what the new kid did to Clarisse and her sisters, she couldn't help it, Amelia let out a loud laugh that shocked the hades out of the Hephaestus kids she was sitting with. The counselor, Charles Beckenford was helping Amelia with her weapon choice. He was one of the best and he recently learned from his father - from a dream, mind you - how to charm the weapons into any piece of jewelry or any object that would be easily hidden from the mortals.

"This Capture the Flag will be interesting" Amelia said cheerfully, the most expressive they've ever seen her. "Do you think you'll have my bow and arrows ready for it?"

To his credit, Beckenford barely reacted to Amelia's mood swing, smiling like he would to everyone who came to him for help with their weapons, "Yeah. In fact, I did something extra for you with your bow as a way of saying thank you for covering my chores for me"

"It was a trade" Amelia dismissed, "Your cleaning duties in exchange for you to fix my weapon"

"Still, I had a lot of responsibilities this week" Beckenford told her sheepishly, "Besides, I know from Luke that you kinda mysteriously disappear whenever it's your cabin's time for chores"

"In my defense, they shouldn't put a schedule for them in the Cabin's newsboard" Amelia replied.

Beckenford laughed.

Amelia's lips twitched.

Beckenford actually finished her weapon that day before dinner, charming it into a thick leather wrist bracelet. It had two small silver amulets woven into the leather. He explained she only had to pull them for them to grow; one was of an arrow and when pulled it would grow into her quiver of arrows; and the amulet was a small dagger. Beckenford told her that she should always have a dagger in hand, even if she wasn't good at fighting with it. The bow itself was the leather bracelet and it could be pulled out with the quiver charm to get them both out at the same time if she wanted to.

Amelia was admiring the new charmed bracelet in her wrist when she arrived to Cabin Eleven, swiftly jumping through some sleeping bags as to not step on them and pouring dirt to them - she was mean but not that mean - as well as maneuvering around the campers talking to each other and the ones waiting impatiently for dinner.

However, when she reached her own sleeping bag, she abruptly stopped when she realized that her corner wasn't empty as she expected.

Percy Jackson, the new kid was laying on the floor next to her sleeping bag. Good thing that he wasn't sitting on it. Most Hermes kids tried messing with her things or pranking her. They regretted it.
