Taani woke up the next day with puffy eyes and a severe headache. She couldn't sleep properly at all throughout the night and her tears won't stop no matter what she did. She got ready and went downstairs to have breakfast. Although she didn't really want to, she knew that her family would come looking for her if she didn't.
She saw that her grandma was not there and asked about her whereabouts. "Amma is still very weak so we sent her breakfast in her room, she's not able to walk much right now." Avi informed her as he silently filled a plate full of food for his sister. "You don't worry at all Taani, I won't let it happen, do you trust me?" He asked while caressing her head lovingly. Taani had no more tears to shed and no more energy to argue or to avoid the inevitable.
"I'll talk to her after breakfast." Taani said effectively ending the discussion for everyone. Siya and Ranveer looked at her in concern. They couldn't bear to see her like this but didn't know what to do either. Everyone else had their breakfast silently, the whole environment felt upsetting. Taani got up after eating a little bit, said her goodbyes and made her way towards her grandma's room.
She entered her room without making any noise and saw that her grandma was sleeping. Now that she saw her in broad daylight, her grandma looked so pale and fragile, almost breakable. She heaved a sigh and took a seat in front of her near the bed and waited for her to wake up, while scrolling aimlessly through her phone to pass the time. "Taani?" Taani got startled as she heard her grandma's voice. She was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't even realise her grandma was awake and was monitoring her for the past 5 minutes.
"Amma! Aapki tabiyat kaisi hai ab? Aapko kuch chahiye?" (𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒎𝒂! 𝑯𝒐𝒘'𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒏𝒐𝒘? 𝑫𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈?) Taani filled the glass with water and helped her grandma drink it.
"Mai theek hu beta ab is umar mai to ye sab laga hi rehta hai." (𝑰'𝒎 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆, 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒈𝒆.) Sumitra knew that by now Ranveer had told everyone about the marriage proposal. She caressed Taani's cheeks adoringly and kissed her forehead. Taani couldn't do anything more than give her a small smile.
"Taani, meri bachchi, tum time leke decide karo tumhe kya karna hai. Meri chinta mat karo bilkul bhi. Mai khush rahungi tumhare har faisle se." (𝑻𝒂𝒂𝒏𝒊, 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐. 𝑫𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒎𝒆. 𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏.) But Taani still couldn't forget her grandma's face when she had given her a huge smile as she had gotten the news, nor could she forget the horrible incident where she fainted. Taani gave her a helpless smile, she didn't want to become a cause of her illness and weakness.
She had to get married someday anyways and it's not like she was in love with another, so why create a fuss now and distress her family members especially her grandma? "Aapne pasand kiya hai na unhe humare liye to wo galat kese ho sakte hain? Hume rishta manzoor hai Amma." (𝒀𝒐𝒖'𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆, 𝒔𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆? 𝑰 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍.) Sumitra's eyes widened in happiness, and she tried to sit up but Taani panicked and told her to lay down quietly and warned her not to make such sudden movements again.
"Sach mai? Ye tu apni marzi se bol rahi hai na? Kahi meri wajah se to nahi?" (𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚? 𝒀𝒐𝒖'𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕? 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒆?) Sumitra had to make sure her darling granddaughter was just as happy with it as she was. After all it was her who had to get married.
