F.E.A.R (Forget Everything And Run...Or Face Everything And Rise) - KimChay Au

Chapter 2

(Kim finally awakens..........Chay is still confused.......and Kinn and Porsche finally decide to show up!)

Chay had tried calling Porsche............four times actually!...........but his thrice damned brother had not picked up the phone, leaving Chay no option but to leave three messages for his brother to call him back as soon as possible!

Chay didn't even have a number for Kinn or the Theerapanyakul compound, so he had no idea how to contact any of them either. All of this, and the glares he had received from the paramedics when he had proclaimed he wasn't going to the hospital in the ambulance........had lead to him sitting in the back of the cramped van, with two Beta's and an unconscious Kim..........could this night really get any worse?

The two Beta paramedics had already cut off the remnants of Kim's shirt, having almost immediately shoved off the tatters of the jacket when they arrived, attaching a wide array of monitors to the unconscious Alpha. Chay couldn't help but glance down at the now naked torso of the man he had once loved, even now, when all he felt about Kim was hurt and distrust, he didn't like to see the man like this. He also had no idea why Kim had been following him in the first place........what had the man been thinking? Has he just been hanging around in the area? Had he been on some kind of mafia business? Chay knew from the memories of those dead Alpha's in Yok's bar that day, that Kim wouldn't have been caught by the slavers unless he had allowed himself to be.......but would he even admit anything if Chay asked? Ughh too many questions swimming about in his head, but as Chay had been dragged along in the damn ambulance, and not allowed to simply do a good deed, and save Kim's life, and leave.........he was going to get some bloody answers this time when the man woke up!

The rhythmic beeping which had been filling the small space suddenly changed, became almost jarring against the humming of the vehicle's engine. Chay didn't have time to figure out what the noise meant before both paramedics were jumping up from their seats, one looking at the frankly mindboggling array of squiggly lines on the monitors, which meant nothing to Chay, while the other one began to press down firmly on Kim's chest in a way Chay had only seen in movies........and only when the character had.........

Chay's eyes fixed on Kim's face, somehow seemingly relaxed as though asleep........rather than.........

Chay's mind almost couldn't compute the idea that someone as strong as Kim, as capable as Kim...

....as indestructible as Kim, in his eyes......

...was even capable of dying!

That's what that beeping meant.........it meant that Kim's heart had stopped, and the paramedics were rushing to try and restart it. Chay felt tears well in his eyes, looking down at the unnervingly still body of Kim, wondering once again what had happened to bring him to that road at that exact time.......and what had happened to get him into this state! The rhythmic beeping started up again, and Chay exhaled, the breath didn't know he had been holding. Kim's heart was beating again........at least for now! The Paramedics didn't look too pleased though, and if anything, the ambulance seemed to be going faster than before. Chay couldn't help but close his eyes and wish his brother gave him a call sooner rather than later, Chay wasn't used to dealing with things like this.

'Come and sit on my seat, you will be closer to him, and your scent will calm him!' Instructed one of the Beta paramedics.

Chay was at a total loss as to why his scent would do anything to help Kim, but he was the only Omega present, maybe they meant that. Omega's scents normally had relaxing effects on Alphas. Either way, Chay didn't have the mental capacity to figure it out right now and simply followed instructions. Up close Kim's chest was stained almost completely red, and Chay had to bite his lip not to whine. He simply didn't know how much of the blood was Kim's and how much belonged to the other Alpha's he had been fighting.
