(Both Kim and Chay are feeling lonely after Kim leaves...........but at least Kim is keeping his promise and keeping in regular contact with Chay. Until one day a strange phone call from Kim leads Chay to make a potentially life changing decision.)

If Chay had thought the house had felt empty after Porsche left for his new life with Kinn, then somehow it felt even worse without Kim there. It had only taken a few weeks for the Alpha to go from someone Chay had not wanted within a mile of him, to someone who curled up next to him in bed, and someone whose deep purring at night was almost like a lullaby to Chay's loneliness. Kim had at times been a pain in his ass, and a challenge to his sanity, but he had always been there as a figure of security, warmth, and comfort whenever Chay needed him. Chay had almost forgotten what it felt like to share a meal with someone, have stupid fall outs over small things like chores and who took the first shower. The house had simply felt more like a home with Kim around.........and now with him gone........it had fallen back into almost silence.......loneliness once again.

To give him his due, Kim had been as good as his word in the week since he had left the house. Kim called Chay twice a day, normally just after he had woken up and then again just before he was due to curl up in his cold bed and try to sleep. The two would talk sometimes for as long as 10 minutes, sometimes only as short as 30 seconds, but at least they were communicating.....it wasn't even rare for Chay to fall asleep at night as Kim hummed a tune or sang a song. Not that he would admit to Kim, or anyone else, that those nights were the ones in which he slept best and had the least nightmares. Chay had no idea where the Alpha had vanished to either......all Kim's clothes and belongings were still at the house. Kim had never returned for them, or even asked about them in their conversations. Chay highly doubted that Kim had returned to the Main Family compound, and he wasn't about to call Porsche to ask. If Kim didn't want to return there, then that was up to him. No, Chay's best guess was that Kim had returned to his old apartment, the one with the door code of the day they first met!

Kim had been right about them needing space........in the two weeks they had been together it had been like a whirlwind. Kim's memories, Porsche and Kinn descending, the intruder, Chay's heat..........it had always been something attacking Chay's senses and simply not allowing the down time he needed to think things through clearly. Chay could only assume that Kim was the same.......it couldn't be easy having the memories of your whole life whipped away, only to descend on you in the space of a day. They both needed to get their heads in order. Chay would often find himself looking out the bedroom window, just before he closed the curtains for the night, wondering which shadow Kim was currently hiding in as he kept him safe.

Was Kim even around?

It was the not knowing that was sending him mad, and even though he knew he could just ask Kim where he was when they spoke on the phone, that small voice inside his head still whispered to him that he might not want the answer.

Kim might be at a club, balls deep inside a Beta, or some other Omega, as Chay stood pathetically next to the window looking out. At that very moment, Kim might not even be thinking of him at all! Kim had said he loved him yes, but no promises had been made before they separated. Chay was going to send himself crazy if he stayed inside the house much longer on his own. He had been given permission to fulfil his university commitments from home for the rest of the semester, but with Kim now gone, and the whole reason for not going onto campus gone with him, Chay was going to go into university next week and see about rectifying that situation. He needed to be around people........he needed to get on with his life again. His life that didn't revolve around the damn Theerapanyakul family.

But, as an old poem Chay had once read had prophesised, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry!

Or in this case............simply just get fucked up!
