(4 years later........and things have changed)

4 years later:

Chay was fiddling with the cap, trying to get the damn thing to stay on his head for more than 5 minutes before it flew of in even the first hint of wind. There actually didn't need to be wind, Chay just needed to think too hard, and the stupid thing fell off.........who thought this was a good design anyway?

Suddenly the whole world erupted into a cacophony of screams and yells, almost bursting Chay's eardrums. It might actually have done if he hadn't have been used to such things over the past few years. Having an internationally famous online success story as your mate wasn't just all pluses, despite what people thought! Kim had gone back to his singing persona of WIK, a few years ago, and been in the right place at the right time in being asked to wright a song for some TV show. The song had catapulted WIK from being just someone known to local audiences, to international phenomena and his name was now known all over the world. Chay couldn't have been prouder of his Alpha, the man who had been raised in the shadows, forced to remain there for the first few decades of his life, and conditioned that all he could do was kill and be unworthy of love, was now firmly living in the light and adored by millions. Of course, it had made Chay's last few years of study a bit more difficult, with everyone swooning over Kim and demanding Chay get them autographs or photos. Kim had been good about it for the most part, doing what he could to keep Chay out of the limelight, but there was only so much he could do.

Everyone knew Kim was mated, and everyone knew who to. So Chay had been required to attend some of the local events with him, which had been an eye-opening experience. Lights flashing in his face, people screaming, others asking questions, still others shoving at him to keep moving..........the whole thing had been surreal. The only thing that had kept him grounded during any of those events was the fact that Kim had remained by his side throughout, his supportive arm wrapped around Chay's waist and that deep, seductive, voice whispering reassurance in his ear.

From what he could hear right now though. It sounded like Kim had arrived!

Chay had learned from past experience, that following the direction screaming chaotic gaggle would lead his to his Alpha.

Trailing behind, simply so he didn't get stepped on in the stampede, Chay once again struggled to keep the stupid cap on his head, as he walked up the steps and towards the exterior entrance to the main hall. One of his friends saw him approach, and Chay half cringed, half laughed, as the Beta began shoving the mass of bodies to one side or another, trying to create a gap for Chay to walk through. That was until one of the gaggle of bodies, who all looked the same in their caps and gowns, nearly fell down the stairs in the squabble. Unfortunately the person the individual hit while flailing their arms in order not to take the terrifying tumble was Chay.............fortunately for Chay, Kim's arms came flashing out of nowhere and caught him before he could take the tumble instead.

There was a round of coooing and 'ahhhh so cute'.....'why don't I have an Alpha like that'.......'He's so lucky!' and all the normal nonsense. Not that Chay was particularly paying attention to any of it. Kim had changed in the past few years since they had both made a clean break from both the mafia and their families. The Alpha smiled more than he ever had before, and that tension which had always been there like a second skin, seemed to have faded away over time. Today's Kim was still a deadly killer, even more so than many Alpha's his size and age, but he was more comfortable with who he was. Of course, that's not what was getting Chay's attention at the moment, it was more of what Kim was wearing. Kim had needed to attend a photoshoot in Bangkok city centre earlier that morning, but had promised to attend graduation. What Chay hadn't expected was his Alpha to be so pressed for time that he seemingly hadn't changed.
