After two weeks of training with infantry weapons, such as pistols, submachine guns, assault rifles, machine guns, and rifles, Maximus and his legion started training with heavy weapons. Colonel Ermey, Lieutenant Joker, Lieutenant Pyle, and a platoon of UT army personnel have prepared several M777 howitzers for Maximus and his legion to train.
"Okay, legionnaires. Today, all of you will learn how to 'serve the king of the battle' artillery. We will train you to serve the king based on the United Terran government's decision to export this beast. This old king is an M777 howitzer, the best product of my country, the United States of America (USA), one hundred and fifty (150) years ago. One hundred and fifty-five (155) mm caliber could destroy enemy targets to 40 km."
"Oh my gods, that artillery resembles the magic artillery of the United States of Amarilon (USA). So, United Terran is more advanced than United States of Amarilon by one hundred and fifty (150) years." Heraclius said.
"First, this king is not using magic, but gunpowder. Then what is this United States of Amarilon (USA)? If you said they are behind 150 years of us, so they are a superpower or hyperpower nation? I assume this nation is the magic alternative to my country, right?". Colonel Ermey asked Heraclius.
"Based on Ambassador Luigi and Lucien's information, yes, the United States of Amarilon (USA) is the magic alternative of the county in United Terran, United States of America (USA)," Heraclius responds.
"Oh my God, the magic version of Yankee. It's so interesting. Maybe we can play football and basketball with them. Nevertheless, if they use magic to buff their bodies, we do not stand a chance; that is cheating. Oh man, magic is overpowering in this world." Lieutenant Pyle grumbled.
"Shut up, Lieutenant Pyle. Your tiny brain is only used for grumbling. Even though we can not utilize magic, we can use our brains to develop science and technology. Prepare this old king with your platoon and show the ladies how to operate this beast." Colonel Ermey scolded Lieutenant Pyle and ordered him to prepare the M777 howitzer.
"Sir, yes, Sir." Lieutenant Pyle respond.
Colonel Ermey surveyed the M777 howitzer critically, his authoritative presence commanding the attention of Lieutenant Pyle and his platoon. With a firm nod, he began issuing instructions with the precision of a seasoned leader.
"All right, legionnaires. Let us walk through the firing sequence step by step," Colonel Ermey instructed, his voice firm and authoritative.
"First things first, safety! Before we do anything else, ensure the area is clear of obstructions and personnel. We do not want any accidents. Once the area is secure, check the integrity of the gun and its components. Inspect the barrel, breech, and firing mechanisms for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure that all safety protocols are in place.
Lieutenant Pyle and his platoon performed efficiently in preparing the artillery. Their focus is unwavering as they prepare to execute each step with precision. Maximus and his legions used the enhanced memory magic to improve their understanding of preparing the artillery.
With practiced efficiency, Lieutenant Pyle's platoon completed each task under Colonel Ermey's watchful gaze.
"Next, confirm the coordinates for the target and input them into the fire control system. Adjust the elevation and traverse as needed to acquire your target. Double-check your calculations to ensure accuracy. Remember, accuracy is paramount." Colonel Ermey ordered Lieutenant Pyle to calculate the position of the target.
