Zipping my little sisters jacket up to her chin, I quickly made work of pulling her into my chest, before I swung her up onto my hip. I made sure to keep her close to me, as she was drifting in and out of sleep. She had no idea what was going on, and that was for the best. It would be for the best, as it would hurt her to know what was happening.

By leaving New York, we had left behind the security of the place, meaning that we had been found out. We were being followed, and the notification from the tracker I had in my brothers car, had notified me of such. He had nearly been taken away from us, but he had somehow managed to get out of there, but his car was no longer going.

We had been found out, which meant that the boxes we hadn't bothered to unpack, were going back into our trucks, and a few things were going to be left behind. Our cousins, who were practically our brothers, had been told to turn around, and that we would be back in New York as soon as possible.

It was about a two day drive, with all the stops and starts we had on the way here, but with the chance of being followed, it was either going to be longer, or much shorter, depending on what happened. That was the scary thing. We had no idea what was going to happen, and with a baby sister, cradled in my arms right this second, we had to be as normal as possible.

Hence why, as much as it made me cringe, I was standing in the foyer, rocking her to sleep, occasionally having to walk to the stairs and back to get her to sleep, while the rest of my brothers packed everything away. Most of the lights had been turned off, so it seemed like we had gone to bed.

I had never voiced it, but I had felt a weird prickling feeling on the back of my neck the second we got to this house. Nothing was shared about why we were here, and Alessandro didn't know much himself, so, we decided to keep Leo in the dark about this. He wanted to keep us in the dark, so he would be in the dark as well.

I know that sounds selfish, but I just wanted my brother, here, holding me like I was holding Chiara. Her cries had broken my heart, and I wish he could have heard them as well, but he was probably too drunk to hear her. That was all he had done since we had gotten here, was get drunk and then sleep in his bed all day.

We had been so lost, searching for that light in our lives that told us which way to go, and for once, we had found it on our own, without Leo. We were now without Leo. "My trucks full" Rocco came inside, catching sight of me with Chiara, and I watched his lips turn down to a frown at the sight of her teary face that was pushed into my neck.

"This is the last box, then we are good to go" Alessandro handed the final box to Enzo whom had just come back inside, almost a fearful look in his eye, before he was turning back around. Alessandro turned his back right as everyone started to head towards the cars, as he was about to do the final few locks, but I stopped him.

The look on Enzo's face scared me. There was this color to his face that made him look pale, almost as if he had seen a ghost. "Al" I whispered, and he stopped in his tracks and turned to me, worry in his eye as he looked to Chiara. "I don't think we can go just yet. Enzo didn't look good" I murmured, and he immediately caught on to what I was trying to say.
