Whats going on? (Hester's POV)

I just encountered a lady with very rude manner, I just asked her if she could keep it down and then she starts saying "I wasn't even that loud" like what? If I can hear your loud.

I told my penpal I'd text her first today so I'm currently heading back to my complex, I touch the metal handle turning it, and walking into my room.

"Alright let's hope 8963 won't be angry." I say aloud shutting the door, and heading over to my desk they provided.

I type "Hey, I texted you first this time 8963, sorry about my laziness." I texted, then seeing a response right after I sent the text. "Finally, what do you want? A round of applause? If we die it's your fault." It seemed like she basically yelled at me through the computer.

"Okay look, I swear I won't text late anymore." I replied trying to come up with some sort of compromise. I shut off my computer not really wanting to argue anymore, It was almost lunch time anyways.

I heard a little knock on the door and I opened it. "Here's your lunch." Said an older woman wearing all white clothing. "Thank you.." I began, carefully inspecting the food to make sure they weren't trying to poison me.

"No problem, just don't forget to text your pen pal.." The old woman whispered then shutting the door. I walked over to the desk to eat this... food, it looked like spaghetti with some mushrooms..

They really have to think about people's allergies when making this kind of food, not that I have anything against mushrooms but what if someone is allergic? Wouldn't that break the game system if they died from a mushroom allergy?

I stop myself from overthinking things in my head, and bend down to see a little USB on the ground... "Davy must've dropped this".. I murmured to myself. I pick it up then realizing it can plug into my computer. I plug it in and a video plays.

"Hey kid', it's yo driver" Davy exclaimed on the screen sounding hyped. "I just want you to know this challenge won't be easy, I'm probably dead by the time you're seeing this, but kid I was once in the system too."

I look at the computer in complete shock, did they still involve him in the game, did he even finish? The computer continues to play, "I was going to face death, because I disobeyed the rules back then.. but they made me an offer, I reluctantly listened in because it could save me. But I was wrong."

I then hear another knock on the door closing that video out and removing the USB throwing it back under the desk. I run to the door and open it to see an officer.. "We have to do a monthly room inspection." The guy mentions.

I could feel a cold rush go up my spine. "Alright just give me a minute I have to change." I close the door quickly running to grab the USB and a new pair of shorts so the guy thinks I am "changing" I quickly pull the shorts up and put the USB in the pocket. I open the door "Sorry, I got food on my shorts earlier."
