The group gathered around the table, maps and blueprints spread out before them as they finalized their plan.
"We need to make sure every detail is perfect," Hanni declared, her voice filled with determination.
Minji nodded in agreement. "We can't afford any mistakes. The stakes are too high."
Archer glanced over the schematics, his expression serious. "We'll need to be precise and efficient. Any slip-ups could jeopardize the entire operation."
Maddie smirked confidently. "Don't worry, precision is my middle name."
The laptop emitted a notification sound, drawing everyone's attention. Scott glanced at the screen and furrowed his brow. "It's a message from Helen," he announced, his voice tinged with disdain.
Minji's lip curled in disgust as she read the message. "She's asking why I'm so interested in talking to her," Scott continued, his tone incredulous.
Maddie's eyes darted around the group, seeking input. "What should we say?" she asked, her gaze landing on Minji.
With a frustrated sigh, Minji pushed Scott aside and took control of the laptop. Her fingers danced across the keyboard as she composed a response, her expression tight with irritation.
However, her response belied the annoyance evident on her face. With a mischievous glint in her eye, Minji typed out a flirtatious message, her fingers moving with purpose across the keyboard.
"Maybe I'm just intrigued by your mysterious allure 😉 Care to enlighten me?" Minji typed, adding a playful wink emoji at the end for good measure.
The group teased Minji, laughing and exchanging knowing glances, except for Hanni, who was glaring at the screen, fixated on the three dots indicating that Helen was typing a reply.
As the anticipation mounted, Minji felt a knot forming in her stomach. She tried to brush off the teasing, but Hanni's intense gaze made her uneasy. Finally, the message came through, and Minji's heart skipped a beat as she read Helen's response.
Helen's response was flirtatious and suggestive, fueling the banter among the group. Minji felt a mix of amusement and discomfort, unsure of how to navigate the situation. Hanni's continued silence only added to the tension, and Minji couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
Helen's text read: "I'm intrigued by your sudden interest in me. How about we meet for dinner at that new upscale restaurant downtown? I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about ;) "
"Yes!" Maddie exclaimed. "I'm scanning for the restaurant she might be interested in. From her page, it looks like she frequently has her dates at a restaurant called... l'attrait de," scoff said, botching the accent.
"It's l'attrait de," Micheal corrected him, the words slipping off his tongue effortlessly. Scott waved him off. "Yeah, whatever he said," Scott replied.
"Well, we have a date, but who's going?" Archer asked.
"We can't be seen there, she'll know this was all a hoax," Maddie said.
"We need a new face," Tyler suggested.
Everyone looked to Hanni.
"What?" Hanni said.
"There's no way," Reggie said, crossing his arms.
"Please, Reggie, we need you," Hanni pleaded.
Reggie scoffed, leaning against his doorframe. "You're asking me to go on a date with someone I don't even know? After disappearing for two months, and you expect me to trust you?" he said, then barked a laugh. "I should shut the door in your face," he said, reaching for the door's edge.
