The car rolled up to the complex, and Reggie took a deep breath, straightening his tie one last time. He sighed, shutting off his phone, and thanked the driver before stepping out of the shiny car. This wasn't a date—it was a confrontation with a criminal, someone who ruined lives and stole. He was about to engage with the woman who tarnished his family's name. Despite his unease, there was no other way to end this. He had to...eat the rich.
Reggie walked with purpose towards the entrance of the restaurant, steeling himself for what lay ahead. As he approached, he noticed the elegant ambiance of the establishment—the soft glow of candlelight, the murmurs of conversation, the clinking of glasses. Inside, he spotted Helen, sitting at a table near the back, her demeanor oozing with confidence.
Taking a deep breath, Reggie squared his shoulders and made his way towards her. With each step, his resolve strengthened. He was determined to see this through, to gather the information needed to bring down the criminal enterprise that had plagued his family.
As he reached the table, Helen looked up, her eyes lighting up with recognition. "Reggie, darling, you're right on time," she purred, gesturing for him to take a seat.
Reggie plastered on a charming smile, masking the turmoil brewing inside him. This was just the beginning of a dangerous game—one that he was determined to win.
As Reggie settled into his seat, he found himself falling into the role of Rio, the suave and confident persona crafted for this mission. He engaged in polite small talk with Helen, all the while keeping a keen eye out for any clues or hints that could aid their plan.
Despite the tension simmering beneath the surface, Reggie maintained his composure, effortlessly navigating the conversation. He deftly steered it towards topics of mutual interest, subtly probing for information without raising suspicion.
Meanwhile, his teammates watched from a discreet distance, ready to intervene if necessary. They monitored the situation closely, ready to adapt their strategy as needed to ensure the success of their mission.
Every word that Rio uttered was scripted.
Reggie leaned in slightly, his tone casual yet curious. "So, where do you work?"
Helen glanced at him with a faint smile. "Oh, I have my own little business. It's nothing too fancy," she replied, her voice smooth and confident.
Reggie nodded, following the script. "That sounds intriguing. I've always admired people who take charge of their own ventures," he said, trying to maintain a charming demeanor.
"Tell me more about your work,"Reggie prompted, leaning in with interest.
Helen cleared her throat before responding, "I work in finance, managing investments for various clients."
His eyes sparkled with curiosity. "That sounds fascinating. And do you enjoy it?"
Helen forced a smile. "Oh, absolutely. I find it rewarding to help clients grow their wealth and achieve their financial goals."
Financial goals?
Reggie simmered with frustration. Of all the fabricated professions she could have chosen, she pretended to take pride in helping people make money, knowing well she did the opposite. "So, do you get along with your coworkers?" he asked, taking a sip of his wine.
Her expression faltered slightly before she replied, "There are ups and downs. Not everyone agrees with our decision-making sometimes," she admitted.
"So, it's not as great as I thought, huh? Do you have many friends? With your smile, you must be popular among your peers," he probed.
