Hanni, wrapped in a towel, stood amidst swirling steam, her hair tousled and damp. "I found these in the drawer," Minji muttered, holding out a handful of clothes, avoiding Hanni's gaze.Hanni took them, their fingers brushing briefly. "Wait," she said as Minji turned to leave, halting her in her tracks. "I'm leaving anyways. Don't worry, you can just go in," she said, the tension palpable. Minji nodded, her nerves evident.
"You forgot shorts," Hanni said with a chuckle. "Shit, sorry," Minji replied, still avoiding eye contact.
"It's fine, I guess. Excuse me," Hanni said, and they awkwardly sidestepped each other. Minji closed her eyes, alone in the bathroom, about to grab a towel when she realized she forgot spare clothes. Opening the door again, she was greeted with a surprising sight...
Hanni stood by the double bed, pretending to be engrossed in fixing the sheets. "Need something?" she asked, her tone casual despite the nervous flutter in her stomach.
Minji's cheeks flushed as she glanced over, her eyes wide with surprise. "I, uh, forgot spare clothes," she admitted sheepishly, avoiding Hanni's gaze.
Hanni leaned against the counter, a smirk playing on her lips. "Well, you can borrow something of mine. Let me see what I have," she said, trying to mask the racing of her heart.
As Minji watched, Hanni rifled through her small bag, finally pulling out a pair of shorts and a loose T-shirt. "Here, these should fit," she said, handing them over to Minji, who accepted them with a grateful smile.
"Thanks," Minji murmured, her cheeks still flushed. "I'll, um, be quick," she added before disappearing into the bathroom, leaving Hanni alone with her racing thoughts and the steam slowly dissipating around her.
Hanni listened to the sound of running water, her mind racing with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. She knew she couldn't avoid the inevitable confrontation for long. As the seconds ticked by, she found herself growing restless, her nerves twisting in her stomach.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the bathroom door creaked open. Hanni turned to face Minji, her heart pounding in her chest. But as she took in Minji's appearance, her breath caught in her throat.
Minji stood before her, clad in Hanni's borrowed clothes, her hair damp and tousled from the shower. Despite the tension lingering in the air, there was a softness to her features that Hanni couldn't ignore."Sorry for the wait," Minji said softly, her eyes meeting Hanni's briefly before darting away.
Hanni shook her head, trying to dispel the swirling emotions inside her. "No worries," she replied, forcing a nonchalant tone.
They stood in silence for a moment, the air thick with unspoken words. Hanni felt the weight of their shared history pressing down on her, threatening to suffocate her with its intensity.
Hanni shifted uncomfortably, the weight of the unspoken tension pressing down on her shoulders. Clearing her throat, she finally mustered the courage to address the elephant in the room.
"Uh, about the bed situation," Hanni began, her voice sounding small in the stillness of the room. She glanced at Minji, who was sitting beside her, her expression guarded yet open to conversation.
"I know it's not ideal, but we don't really have any other options," Hanni continued, choosing her words carefully. "I mean, we could try to find another place to stay, but it's getting late and..."
Her voice trailed off as she struggled to articulate her thoughts, the awkwardness of the situation weighing heavily on her mind. She avoided Minji's gaze, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
