Silverstorm

The sky was grey with clouds, rain pattering the dark ground and foliage.

It wasn't the type of rain a cat could enjoy lightly, but one that meant business.

Currently, its business was turning everything around the forest into a muddy soup.

Hazeldusk shook out his drenched fur, growling each time his paws sunk into sticky mud, and the stuff clinging onto his pelt stubbornly.

'Just like Skypaw.' he thought.

'That cat is stubborn as heck.'

He could have ridden a bird, but the weather was too horrible for them to take flight. So that left him with only one option, and it resulted in this nightmare.

How long had it been? Days? Weeks? He couldn't tell.

All he knew it had taken him quite a long time, and lots of asking around to arrive at the humid territory of the Tribe of Hidden Waters.

"No wonder they call it Hidden." Hazeldusk spat out a mouthful of rogue leaves that threatened to hurl themselves down his throat.

"Let's just hope it is worth all this trouble." he limped down the rocky slope, frowning at the crows that watched him interestedly.

"Caw!" one of them crowed, eyes glittering excitedly when he nearly slipped into a yawning maw of darkness below.

"Nuh-uh!" Hazeldusk hissed back. "I'm not going to be your dinner today!"

A falling tree answered his defiant retorts, and he leaped into a small cave to avoid it.

"Caw Caw!" the crows squawked, forcefully reminding him of the jeers of Mandalorian warriors when they chased him out of their territory.

"Oh, shut up!" Hazeldusk yowled at the birds, dragging his exhausted body deeper into the warmth of the dry space.

His encounter with the Mandalorians hadn't been the most pleasant experience.

They had trapped him when he asked about Silverstorm and had tried to feed him to their animals. He personally hoped he would never see another Mythosaur Lizard; that thing was terrifying.

At least he now knew Silverstorm had met up with Seersight, so that would mean the percentage of finding clues in the Tribe of the Hidden Waters was high.

Dawn came after the long, rainy night of the harsh land of the Tribe of the Hidden Waters.

At least the rain had stopped, but the atmosphere was still humid, which Hazeldusk found depressing.

"Time to get moving." he fluffed out his pelt, stretching the sleep out of his body before padding down the slope.

He personally thought he wouldn't be able to stand to live in such a place, with rocky terrains and straggly prey.

"Wonder how these cloners stand it," he mumbled as he stared at the endless grey and blue atmosphere.

"Finally." Hazeldusk flopped to the smooth paved stones floating in grey water.

"They said this was the entrance to their main cave."

He looked around the marshy clearing, thick with fog and the mountains covered with mist.

"I suppose it wouldn't be a problem if I rest here for a bit."

As soon as he rested his head on his paws, a misty voice mewed behind him, making him leap three foxlengths back. That was a mistake, because he landed right into the freezing water, and he shot out of it, shivering and soaked to the bone.
