Connie and Steven walked through the cave, picking up and bubbling gem shards. "Hey, Connie?" "Yeah Steven?" Connie asked. "Can you bubble?" Steven asked, bubbling another gem shard while doing so. "Um....I don't think so.....Let me try.." Connie concentrated, and she was able to bubble it. "Look, Steven! I bubbled it!" Connie pointed to the blue bubble surrounding the gem shard. "Cool! Now try to make it bigger so you can get most of the gem shards. Look, I'll show you." Steven made a big, pink bubble and put it around all the gem shards. He sent it to the temple. "Okay..." Concentrating, Connie made a big, blue bubble around all the rest of the gem shards.
"Okay! We're finished-" Steven got cut off when some type of bug came toward him. It grew bigger, until it looked like a monster fully grown. The Crystal Gems were being held in the monster's weird tentacles. Steven brought out his shield, Connie brought out her blue sword. Running, Connie brought her sword up to the monster's face, and it stabbed the monster in the face. Screeching, the monster let go of the Crystal Gems and turned into a greenish-blue gem.
"Connie! Are you okay?" Steven said. Connie was blushing. Steven was really close to her face. Steven noticed what he was doing, and backed away, blushing as well. "Alright, Connie. You and Steven did really good on this mission. You can be part of this team." Garnet said calmly. Connie was happy. Happy she could spend time with Steven, happy she was part of the team, happy she wasn't just a normal human. She was half human and half gem, just like Steven.Connie smiled as she got on the warp pad.
She was just like them, the Crystal Gems.
