Y/n Reeves, born into a family of wealth, a family that never had to worry about when their next meal when was going to be, a family that had maids and chefs, a family that always felt like they were missing something or someone. Mr. Reeves, a man who works hard for his family to live the way they do, shopping all the hottest new collections, enjoying the finest of wines and dines every week, taking week long vacations and going to exotic islands and foreign countries. While on the other hand, Mrs. Reeves is a trophy wife doing all the credit card swiping, purchasing new shoes and handbags every week, enjoying that $600 bottle of wine, picking out what new country they were going to visit. Mrs. Reeves has it all; a loving husband, a beautiful daughter, the most luxurious home, and what seems like an endless amount of money to be spent. Something was missing though, it didn't feel quite right at times. It felt like opening Christmas presents ended too quickly, it felt like there should be an extra set of silverware at the dinner table, it felt like their home wasn't complete. They just needed a special someone to fill that void left in all their hearts.

"Mommy! Where is he?" Y/n jumped up and down, heeled princess shoes clacking on the tile flooring. Y/ns mother couldn't help but smile down at her daughter, who was so excited to meet her new brother. "He's on his way" she reminded her daughter for the 5th time since being at the airport. Y/n clung to her mothers hand as she waited for her new best friend, the smile on her face dropping with every passing minute.

Y/n felt as if they have been waiting for hours, tall adults walked passed the family of three with suitcases and backpacks in hand, most of them wearing headphones and had bags under their eyes. The loud noises of a busy airport didn't bother y/n, she stood with a small smile on her face, only thinking of her new brother. My goodness he was taking forever. He's supposed to be from a troubled home, a fact that y/n didn't fully understand at the moment. Y/ns mommy and daddy told her they would tell her more when she's big like them.

The new brother did come from a troubled home, one filled with drugs and alcohol. One that wasn't meant for a kid to live in, thats why he was rescued. He was now going to be with a lovely family. One made up of a mom, a dad, and a sister. One that could get him food three times a day, or even more. One that would make sure he was bathed and squeaky clean. One that would tuck him into bed every night with a kiss to his forehead. One where he could go to college and make a life worth living, this was truly the best family he could have ever been placed with.

Y/n couldn't contain her excitement as her mother pointed out the small boy who was only a couple years older than her walking towards them with a tall blonde woman, her hair pulled back into a tight bun, and a blank face. Her heels clicked on the ground, much louder than y/ns light up princess heels. The small girl began squealing and jumping up and down as they got closer, causing her father to scowl down at her. "Behave, y/n" he said in a hushed tone. Y/ns father wasn't one who had many kind words, a business man who took everything a little too seriously. He cares for his family, really, he was just a stubborn man, who's work often followed him home.

Y/n didn't pay much attention to the adult speaking to her parents, the unknown woman did look stern and didn't have a smile on her face. Which seemed weird to y/n, this was the happiest day of her life, an older brother. What could be better than that?
In the eyes of the social worker, this was something that may have been a bad idea, calling Mr. and Mrs Reeves a week before the drop off the make sure this is what they wanted, informing them of the trouble the 7 year old boy has given other families. He had been moved around 3 times in the past two years, due to his "issues" as they called them.
Though, nothing could change Mrs. Reeves mind, believing this boy needed a family to love and care for him, something he never had before, something that was new to him. That he would learn to accept this type of life and cherish the ones who saved him, just as much as they would all cherish him and accept him into their small family.
