The night was far too quiet in the Uchiha Compound. Only the cruel light of the full moon gave sight to why the air smelled of blood.

Sasuke's grip on her hand was painful but she was too horrified to notice. All these people, all her people. Some were retired shinobi but the rest? Men, women, and children alike were all slaughtered like animals in the streets.

Why had no one come? Where were the jounin? Was the village under attack?

A thousand questions raced through her mind and she pushed down the bile rising in her throat. Sasuke ordered her to stay close as they raced to check on their parents.

Please be alive. She prayed. Whatever condition you're in, just be alive.

The more they ran the harder they breathed and the more the scent of blood and ash became suffocating. It was unforgivable.

As the panic rose she felt a burning sensation in her eyes. Her view of the horrors became more detailed. She could perfectly recall everything as they ran. She felt what she thought was a tear pouring down her face as she gripped onto Sasuke.

Sasuke looked back and nearly tripped. "S-Sharingan." He muttered. It was rare for female Uchiha to unlock the sharingan but not unheard of. He shook himself and continued to run. They approached their home and found it empty.

That was until they entered the formal parlor.

"Otousan... Okaasan!" Agony ripped through her soul as she looked at her mother and father dead on the floor. She ran to her mother, ignoring the heat of her blood as she tried to check for a pulse.

Her mother was her closest person. Every day was spent learning from and following her mom. She was being raised to be a proper matriarch, a proper mother, and now her closest ally, her dearest mother lay dead at her feet.

Her eyes burned further as she cried.

"Nii-san!" She could hear Sasuke call out.

She looked up to see her big brother, covered in blood. "Itachi-nii?" Her voice shook as she saw the dead look in her brother's eyes.

"Foolish little brother... Weak little sister..." His deep voice that once held so much comfort, shook her already aching heart.

And then she heard Sasuke scream. She looked back and she could see where he was hurt all she knew was Itachi did it.

He collapsed and in that moment only one thought went through her head.

He's dead... Sasuke is dead... Itachi killed him... My twin brother, my best friend is dead and it's all Itachi's fault.

She could feel herself being overwhelmed by an uncontrollable hatred, she felt herself scream in agony as a searing pain tore through her eyes but her ears were ringing too loud to hear much of anything.

Blood streamed through her already blood-soaked fingertips as she clutched her eyes.

She had unlocked the mangekyou sharingan in her despair.

"I'll kill you. I'LL KILL YOU!!!" She threw herself at Itachi landing a few blows before he drove his sword into her stomach too. She knew it was her traumatized mind, but she almost thought he looked horrified at the damage he had done to her.

She knew she imagined it the moment he ripped the blade out again and stepped over her fallen body towards the corpse of Sasuke.
