I slammed the door behind me holding my chest.

I was a bit late!
I wasn't dead!
I wasn't drunk!
He needs to calm the fuck down.

I ran to the lot

I woke up Johnny
"We are running away!" I said
"What?" He asked
"Darry.. he hit me!"
"What?"
" I'm never going back Johnny!"

I turned around and held my arm

I was pissed.

"Woah woah it's ok. I'm sure he was just frazzled."
"No it's not! He's always on my case!"
"Pony calm down!"
"I'm running away Johnny! And that's that. Either you come with me or don't."

I hopped up

I got in-front of him
I grabbed his shoulders

I moved his hair out of his face.

"Pony.. calm down. Your ok. It's ok. I'm here. We're ok."

I could see the pain in his eyes.

"You're doing great." I said

You could tell he calmed down

He fell into my arms

He dug his hand into my shoulder

"Why doesn't he like me?" He sobbed
"He does. He's going through a lot. It's ok. It's all gonna be ok."
"It's gonna be alright. I'm here. Your here. We're here."

He loosened his grip on my shoulder
His face pressed into my collar bone

He pulled off and I took my sleeve and wiped his face off

He looked into my eyes.

He sighed

"I guess I could stay."
"Good. Wanna go to the 24 hour diner?"
"Sure."

We walked to the diner
The old lady was sweet.
She didn't look tired.
Weird.

"Hey kiddos. What can I do you for?"
"2 cokes please. Let's do an order of fry's too."
"Alright!"

We went and sat down

"Now that your calmed down. Can u tell me what happened?"
He sat next to me in the booth.

He explained everything and I felt bad.

"I'm sorry.."
"Why?"
"I- I didn't wake you up. If I hadn't fallen asleep non of this wouldn't have happened."
"It's ok"
