It's Always Been You (Issac Garcia)

8; November 10th

Today's is Lucy's birthday. I'm surprised I haven't cried yet. I love Lucy. She was always there for me and Jack. I decided I wasn't going to mourn or be sad. That's what Lucy would of wanted. My outfit is a brown sweater with a hibiscus on it and some black sweatpants. I put my hair in two low messy braids. No mascara not even waterproof I just can't risk it. After I get ready I head downstairs. I see Jackie with her and Lucy's special birthday teapot. I soon remember to grab Lucy's camera. Me and her always take birthday pictures before we went to school.As I walk back down with the camera everyone says there good mornings.

"Who's camera" I hear Jordan ask.

"Mine" I say not wanting them to know about Lucys birthday. I set the camera down near the teapot so I could get breakfast.

It was very chaotic more than usual. I went to get a plate when all I heard was a smash. It was the tea pot and camera. Parker accidentally knocked the teapot into the sink and the camera onto the floor. I ran over to the camera and picked it up. The lens cracked completely. I went to turn it on, nothing. All my memories of Lucy are gone.

"Parker, be careful," Katherine said as she rushed over to me and Jackie.

"It was an accident," she replied as she walked past us and Katherine.

"Oh God, I'm so sorry," Katherine said.

"It's fine," she said. I'm glad Jackie said something cause I can't even speak. Everyone was silent.

"Everybody we need to be outside in 15 minutes, let's go," Katherine said, breaking the awkward silence.

"Sweetie, I feel terrible -"

"It's fine," my sister says as she walks off, leaving me alone with Katherine. Everyone slowly leaves. Cole walks over to the teapot and says he'll take care of it. After everyone settles back down, I run upstairs with my camera.

Issac pov

After everyone started getting ready to leave for school, I saw Alyssa run upstairs. I followed her. I see her run into our room and close the door. I knock and then go in. I see her rolled up into a ball clutching the camera. I go over to the bed and sit next to her. She rolls over and puts the camera down on the ground so I can see her face now. I feel my heart stop when I see tears roll down her face.

"I'm so sorry, princess," I say to comfort her as I give her a hug. She puts her head on my chest and starts crying more.

"You wanna talk about it? You don't have to." I say while rubbing her back to calm her down. I felt her get less tense.

"Today was supposed to be good. It's Lucy's birthday, and I can't get anything right, " she says, breathing really heavy.

"It's ok, breathe, princess. You did not ruin anything. Today is still going to be a good day. How about we get a cupcake from Montys. We can put a candle in it and everything." I say, looking down at her. She looks at me with her puffy red eyes and tear soaked shirt.

"Really," she asks, grinning like a little kid. I laugh.

"Of course. I hate seeing you upset, " I say and kiss her head.

Alyssa pov

Besides the whole breakdown thing, today has been pretty quiet for me.  Today, Jack tries out for the track team. I'm so excited for her. It's the first thing besides student council she feels like she belongs in. Me on the other hand, have not. I'll probably try out for cheer. I don't know it could be fun. Actually speaking of Jackie I haven't seen her since lunch. I wonder where she is?

After school me and Issac went to Montys to grab a cupcake. We took it home with us so we could put a candle in it and sing happy birthday. It's a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting her favorite. When we got home we went to the kitchen. I sat down at the counter as Issac got the stuff  for the cupcake. I kind of stare off until Issac notices.

"You ok Lyss?" he asks as he grabs a lighter and a bag of birthday candles.

"Honestly no" I say as I pick at my cuticles. He walks over to me, sits down, and smacks my hands.

"Ow what the fuck was that for" I say as I look at my now red hands.

" One don't use that sort of vulgar language with me. Second I'm sorry I just don't like when you mess with your nails or whatever cause I know you only do that when you're stressed.  Three I'm here if you want to talk to me. Not just now or today whenever you need me." He rants as he holds both of my hands in his. I look him in the eyes and smile. I'm so glad to have him in my life. I let go of his hands and jump into his arms. I wrap my arms around his neck as he wraps his around my waist.

"You have no idea how much I neede to hear that" I whisper in his ear. We let go put the candle in the cupcake and lit it . We sang happy birthday and then we both made a wish. After we were done with celebrating we went upstairs. I was reading The Roomate Experiment for the hundreth time while Issac was still reading It Starts With Us. We read for hours until it was time to get ready to go to sleep. I grabbed all of my skincare stuff and pj's and went to the bathroom. After I got back, Issac left to shower. Fucking finally just because he uses colone doesn't mean he needs to stop showering.I sat on the bed grabbed my phone and book. I put my airpods in and listened to music. I love 1989. It's my favorite album. As I got through a couple of pages I decided to check on Jackie. When I walked out, I saw Cole,Alex, and Jackie walk up the stairs. The two boys were helping Jackie walk up. When they got to the top I stopped the three of them.

"What the hell do you think you three are doing? Is she ok?" I ask clearly mad.

"Yeah she's just drunk" Alex says so casually I want to fucking punch him in the face. Jackie has her arms around the two boys. Alex leaves now it's just Jackie, me and Cole.

"What do you mean she's drunk? Where were you guys cause I know it wasn't school" I ask frustratingly.

"Look she was stressed so we took a little  break " Cole says. I'm about to loose my fucking mind with wanna be barbie over here.

"So you take her to get drunk somewhere?" I ask folding my arms. I'm about to say something else until I feel two hands on my shoulders. I turn around and it's Issac. I could tell he just came out of the shower his hair was still wet. He put on grey sweatpants and had no shirt on. I probably would have died seeing him but I was too mad at the two idiots infront of me.

"What's wrong princess" he whispers into my ear while massaging my shoulders.

"Cole took Jackie to a party now she's drunk"

"What the fuck Cole" I hear Issac whisper yell cause we're trying to stay quiet. Cole just flips us off and takes Jackie to her room. I don't say anything to Issac and just turn around grab his and hand go to our room. When we get there we lay down on his bed.

"I can't believe he did that," I say to Issac as he rubs my hand with his. He nods. We lay in silence for a while until he gets up to sleep on the air mattress. I turn the lamp off and tuck myself into bed. I try to sleep, but I just can't.

"Hey can you come sleep with me. I can't fall asleep" I say as I pat the spot next to me. Without hesitation he jumps on the bed and gets under the sheets. He lays down and I put my head on his bare chest as he wraps his arms around me.

"You ok" he asks looking at me.

" Yeah I just needed some company" I say.

"Goodnight princess" he says then kisses my head.

"Goodnight Ise" I say and then close my eyes. I slowly fall asleep to his heartbeat.
