15; The Issac Effect

Alyssa pov

I wake up to Jackie kicking my shins. I rub my eyes and then open them to look at Jackie. She's out asleep. I sit up a little to try and wake her up. I shake her. Nothing. I say her name over and over again. Nothing. It's useless. I grab my phone off her nightstand to check the time. The bright light blinds me, which makes me throw my phone across the bed. I blink a couple of times to get my eyesight back before I lean over the bed to get my phone. It is pitch black dark in her room.  I grab my phone again and check the time. It's only 2:47. I groan as I face plant back into the bed. I try to go to sleep. I toss and turn for about five minutes before I was finally over all of this. I grab my blanket and pillow and roll off her bed. I tiredly walk to my room. The door creeks as I open it. As I walk in, the only visible light is the moon shining through the window. And Issac and I's bunny night light. I shut the door behind me, trying not to wake Issac up. As the door shuts, I hear him move around. As I walk towards the bed, I hear a  quiet voice.

"Lyss," I hear Issac whisper as he rubs his eyes.

"Sorry. I woke you up. I couldn't go to sleep, " I say as I lay next to him on the bed.

"Don't be sorry, it's ok. I'm glad you're here. I missed you, " he said in a raspy voice. He gives me a half smile and then pulls me in by my waist. I can barely see his face in the dark, but I smile back. He puts his head in the crook of my shoulder and neck. My back is against his chest as we lay on our sides. He kisses my shoulder and then goes back to sleep. My body relaxes, and I also go to sleep.

Issac pov

I woke up to my arms wrapped around my girl. I notice she's not awake yet. I lay there and admire her. I don't know what I did to deserve her.

"Good morning, bubs," I hear her say as she turns so her chest is against mine. Her voice is raspy, and her hair is a little messy. She gives me a small smile and then buries her head in my chest.

"Good morning, princess." I kiss the top of her head and rub her back. " Did you sleep ok?"

"Yeah, after I came in here," she says as she looks up at me.  She gives me a loopy smile with her eyes closed. I chuckle and press my lips against hers. After we pull away, she lays her head on my shoulder.

"Can you come to dress rehearsals today?" I ask, looking at her. She nods tiredly. I reach over to my nightstand to check my phone. We have to leave in 15 minutes. I have to get Lyss out of bed.

"Princess, we have to go," I say softly. She groans as she sits up. "Come on, I'll braid your hair," I offer as I also sit up and wrap an arm around her. "Okay, but that's only because I'm too lazy to do my hair today." She says as she gets off the bed and walks over to my desk. She grabs her phone and plays music as she picks out her outfit. I get up after her and make our bed. I would be lying if I said I didn't love Olivia Rodrigo. Her music's pretty good. The more Lyss plays it, the more it grows on me.  After we both got dressed, we sat back on the bed so I could do her hair.

"What do you want me to do?" I ask as I brush her hair. She shrugs her  shoulders. I'll just french braid her hair. I've been practicing for weeks, so I basically got it. I've been paying Parker to let me practice on her so I could suprise Lyss. We've been blasting sza as I braid her hair. In the past 5 minutes, I've gotten at least two hand cramps. I don't know how she does this so effortlessly. This hurts like shit. When I finished, I pulled on the braid a little to make it look bigger.

"Okay, finished," I say as I squeeze her shoulders. She jumps off the bed and runs to the full-length mirror on the closet door. She runs her hands across the top before turning around with her mouth open in shock. I smile as she quickly turns back around to face the mirror.

"Thank you, thank you. It looks so good." She says as she runs over to kiss me on the cheek. She wraps her arms around my neck as I put my arms around her waist. I pull her closer to me and give her a kiss. We pull away as I realize the time.

"Of course, love, but we have to go like right now," I say as I get up and grab my backpack. She does the same as we stumble out of our room.

Alyssa pov

I've been with Jackie all afternoon trying to get ready for Katherine's thing. I had my airpods in as I got ready. I took a shower first, then started on my hair and make-up. I'm wearing this long pastel green dress with some tan heels. I'm going to do my hair half up half down with a braid. I put some concealer,mascara, blush, and lip gloss on to finish the look. Before I do anything else, I spray this perfume I got. After I've done my hair and make-up, I went to my room to get something. As I approached our room, I heard Issac and Lee. I knocked on the door frame and walked in.

"Hey," I waved as I walked over to the closet where my jewelry box was. I'm looking for my gold necklace with the pearls. As I try to find it, I hear the boys talking.

"You think I need any more colone?" Issac asks as he sets the bottle down on his nightstand.

"I don't think that's possible." Lee grimaced as he fixed his tie. I laugh as I grab my necklace and walk towards the boys.

"I was talking to my fucking girlfriend you idiot" Issac says sarcastically while flipping off Lee.

"Love you guys, please don't kill each other. We need you both in one piece tonight.Oh and Issac no more colone, " I say as I rush out my room to go get my dress on. As I leave the room, I hear Lee laugh, and then Issac tackled him on the bed. I roll my eyes, smile, and keep walking. When I run back into Jackie's room, I see she's already dressed. I quickly put my dress and heels on.

"You look so pretty. Alex is a lucky man actually scratch that lucky boy," I say as I struggle to put on my earrings. I hear her chuckle behind me on her bed.

"I mean, you look gorgeous. Issac's pretty lucky, too." Jack says as she walks over to me where im at her desk..

" Do you need help?" she asks. I nod as she grabs the earrings from me. Something about this silence between the two of us makes me want to tell her my deepest, darkest secrets.

" I know I always shit on your relationship with Alex. But I really am happy you found each other." I start as she continues putting my earrings in. "You look so happy. My sister finally found someone who could deal with her." I say as she finishes, then wraps her arms around me shoulders.

"That's means a lot Lyss thank you," she says as she lets go. We grab out phones and walk out of her room. Jackie heads downstairs as I walk to my room. I find Issac on the bed tying his shoes. He quickly looks up, and his face meets mine. I smile at him as I go to sit next to him.

"Hi my love, you look gorgeous," he says as he stands in front of me and grabs my hands. We interlock our fingers.

"You look pretty good, I guess," I say, trying not to smile as I look away from him. He let's go of one of my hands and grab my chin so I face him. My mouth is slightly open, and I know I'm blushing. He leans down so our faces are inches apart. I close the gap by leaning in for the kiss. I move one of my hands to the back of his head. He pulls away first. His face is still close to mine. He gives me a peck before grabbing both of my hands and pulls me off the bed. We walk downstairs hand in hand. Issac opens the front door for me, then the car door. Issac and I sit next to Alex and Jack. I'm squished in between my sister and boyfriend. On the way there, I talked to Jackie about the upcoming rodeo. Alex is going to be riding some horse or whatever. I dont really know what happens at rodeos. I looked down to see my leg shaking. I didn't even notice. I get really stressed out in social situations. I don't really love all the human interaction. I've been thinking about this all day. I ignore the tightness in my chest and just continue talking to Jack. While we talked, I felt someone's hand on my knee. I looked over at Issac and mouthed thank you. He nodded and squeezed my knee. I instantly feel my body relax. I'm glad he's here for me. I don't know where I would be without him. I don't know if it's just in the moment thing or if it's how I actually feel, but I might love him.
