Alyssa pov

"What if I screw everything up?" Jackie asked as she tightened her ponytail.

We decided to get up earlier than usual to get ready for the big day ahead of us. Today's Will and Haylees wedding. Which the Walter's are letting them use the house as their venue. Mostly to save money.

They also decided not to splurge for a wedding planer and instead hired my sister. She's probably the most qualified anyway. Once she first heard the news, she was static. But as the minutes went by, her nerves started to settle in.

I could tell because she hardly talked since we woke up.

She stood up from her vanity to pace around the room. " Everything has to be perfect." She panicked as her shoes clack on the wood floor. "And what if I can't offer that."

I dearly love my sister with all my heart, but she has to stop overthinking. "Jack, you're just nervous. That's understandable but you need to relax." I stood up and walked over to her and grabbed her hands to steady her. She drew in a deep breath and slowly nodded.

"I mean, you love this type of stuff. Most importantly, you love being in charge." I reassured her by squeezing her hands. I reached over and grabbed her wedding plan clipboard, and placed it into her hands.

"I know you know what to do. You got this completely under control, and nothing is going to happen. Think about it like this." As I told her my speech, we gradually migrated to the bed. " You still have me. I will help out with anything you need me to do, and so will the boys." I gave her a pat on the shoulder before standing up to leave.

She smiled at my kind gesture. "Thank you so so so much, Lyss. If you don't mind, could you possibly get on cupcake duty. Sorry for the short notice. I couldn't get anyone to do them, so why not ask my lovely sister."

I saluted as I walked out her door. "Yes, ma'am."

Issac pov

I sat at the kitchen table with Lee as we ate breakfast. Surprisingly, it was only us in there. I guess since today's wedding, everyone has got super busy. I mean everybody. I don't think I've even seen my own girlfriend yet, and we share a room.

As if on cue, she walks through the doorway. She's on her phone with her airpods in. I don't think she noticed us because she doesn't acknowledge us. She goes straight to the fridge.

She's definitely baking something. Everything she bakes she has to listen to music. Lee and I chuckle as she nods her head to the music and dances around as she pulls out various ingredients from the fridge.

As she sets them down on the table, she closes the fridge with her foot. When she turns, she finally makes eye contact with us.

She shyly waves and takes one of her airpods out. "Oh, hi guys,"

"Hi honey," I say mockingly as I wave back.

Lee also waves. "New recipe?"

She nods as she goes back to what she is doing. "Kind of. I'm in charge of making cupcakes for the wedding, but I have no idea what flavor they want." Panic laces her voice as she grabs a bowl from the shelf. "So I'm purely expirementing."

"Well, if you want, Lee and I can help with anything you want." As I state my offer, I turn to Lee, who is giving me the most menacing look ever.

I guess Lyss picked up on the look Lee had given me and dismissed him. "It's okay Lee you don't have to help,"

"Phew, that was a close one," my brother whispers in my ear. " I almost had to do something other than lay in my bed and  eat sour patch kids." 

I roll my eyes at my brothers chronic laziness. He quickly dashes out of the room before anything else could be said.

"You don't have to stay either. You can if you want, though." I nod as I get up and walk over to her.

I stand behind her with my arms wrapped around her waist. And I lean down to rest my chin on her shoulder. "Of course I do."

"You're amazing." I stand up as she spins in my arms to face me. Both of her arms go around my neck, pulling me closer.

We both lean in for a kiss. "I love you," she whispers as we break apart. I smile at three words.

"I love you too, pretty girl." I wrap my arms around her tightly for a hug.

"Okay, but seriously, I'm ready to make cupcakes, Alyssa." I deadpanned as I stepped away from her and held up a whisk.

"Okay, okay, here's the recipe." She explains as she shows me her phone. "Get the eggs." I got to get them, but she stops me to put one of her airpods in my ear. I feel a part of the operation now.

Alyssa pov

Honestly, I have no idea how long we've been baking, but we got a lot done. I decided vanilla lemon as one of the flavors and chocolate chip for the other. We have made at 5 dozen cupcakes in the span of 4 hours, so I guess that's good.

Issac decided to take a break and talk to Lee in the kitchen as they ate sandwiches. I had just pulled the fith tray of cupcakes out when Jackie walked in with her clipboard.

"Hey, are you guys busy?" Jackie asked as she walked over to the table. It had all the unfrosted cupcakes on them.

The boys looked at each other before answering.

"Yes,"

"No,"

Issac sighed and shrugged as he saw the disappointed look on Lee's face. "No,"

"Couldn't you do us a favor and get  started on frosting the cupcakes," she pleaded.

"Come on, Jackie. Looking good takes time, and I need to get ready," my boyfriend whined as he turned in his chair to face her.

"Please. For Will." I knew she wasn't taking no for an answer.

Lee gave him a timid look before patting his chest. "Come on, dude,"

"Okay, fine." He said, annoyed as him and Lee walked over to the cupcakes.

I started cleaning up  but then stopped as soon as the boys started to fight. "No bro the frosting goes first. Then the sprinkles."

"Oh, like this." I look up to see Issac throwing sprinkles at Lee's face. The next thing I knew, they both started throwing sprinkles at each other.

"Guys, stop, we don't have time for this." Jackie scolded.

"Uhm, Jackie," Issac said awkwardly, cutting off her rant.

"Ugh," Issac pointed behind where the dog had the bouquet in his mouth with a petal trail behind him.

"Huh," Lee says in a high-pitched voice while putting his hands on his hips.

guyss my first chapter for this book since like forever. hope you like it. it's been awhile and I didn't know what to right. sorry I lowkey disappeared. Thanks for reading 🩵
