IRENE

I went to check Lisa at the manor. I could still smell the stench of the blood on my leather gloves but I ignored it. Same old brand new. I get my job done as usual and head directly to see her. What's more important for me is to see the glimpse of my beloved woman. Just by seeing her face makes me go on. I don't care how many of them I should take down. Every time I killed one of the High Order's members, I kinda felt that I am close to achieving my main goal. I wondered if she had recollection of what I told her that night. I was hoping she remembered what I promised to her.

It had been 3 hours and she still had not show up. I was losing all my patience and was really ready to get inside her room. Hours turned into days. I've been waiting for her but she had never shown up.

Several nights had gone without a trace of Lisa and it made me crazier each passing day without seeing her. After a week of waiting I decided to show up in the manor to ask the maids.

"Miss Bae!!!" The head of the maids was delighted to see me although I don't remember that we were close. I had to put on a polite face since she's older than me.

"Good morning Ma'am is Lisa around?" I timidly asked.

"Oh, Miss Bae, Miss Manoban probably went home. She said that you may drop by anytime and we should welcome you." She explained, " And your room, we haven't touched it. She instructed us to keep it that way until you return." She was delighted to see me. I could sense she was hoping to get some kind of reaction from me.

My heart was fluttered that Lisa would still want me back in her father's home. But speaking of home, "Home? Did she mean she went back to Amsterdam and to be with her mom?"

"It was just my assumptions." She turned silent as if she was contemplating whether to tell me something or not.

"Do you have anything else to say?" The conversation was really dragging and I had no time for any delay. I need to find Lisa's location.

"Come closer, Miss Bae. I don't want Miss Manoban to think that I love to gossip about her. But I was getting all concerned. She's the only daughter of our master after all."

I walked closer to hear her out. "Go on, I promise this will be only between us."

"Some of her friends have been calling us and asking her whereabouts. They also said Miss Manoban's mother was very worried because she only left a vague message."

My brows furrowed. She didn't let her family know her whereabouts but she was certain that she would be away. At first my suspicion was she got abducted by the High Order since she was involved with me. But if that's the reason why would she even leave her family and friends a goodbye message? Something wasn't adding up. And I felt so strange about everything. I did try to call her but her phone was left unattended. I excused myself and hurried back to the ground to ask for my sisters help.

So I was able to get her phone contact's list through the help of Wendy. Yeri and I called all the contact's list to check if they have any information about Lisa. We pretended to be calling from a company who are taking some surveys. None of them ever mentioned Lisa. The strangest person we talked to was the name under a certain Kang Maru. He seemed to be playing along with me. And his voice kinda reminded me of someone but I couldn't remember who exactly it was. It gave me chills. I thought he found out who I was. I only got relieved when the call ended.

Yeri was waiting for me to talk because she suddenly turned curious about my reaction. "Who could be this Kang Maru, Unnie?"

"Was I too obvious?"
