Chapter 9: Tension
As Jimin and I continued to practice our routine for the upcoming audition, I couldn't shake the feeling of Yoongi's eyes on us. Every time I glanced in his direction, I caught glimpses of him watching from the sidelines, his expression unreadable but tinged with a hint of jealousy.
Despite his presence, Jimin and I pushed forward with our practice, focusing on perfecting every step and movement. With each graceful motion, I felt myself sinking deeper into the rhythm of the music, losing myself in the dance.
But amidst the flurry of activity, Yoongi remained a constant presence, his gaze lingering on us like a silent observer. Sensing his tension, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt.
Just as we were taking a short break to catch our breath, Yoongi appeared with a tray of snacks, his expression softening as he offered them to us.
"Here," he said, his voice gentle yet slightly strained. "I thought you might be hungry."
I smiled gratefully, accepting the snack he offered before turning to Jimin, who took one as well. As we nibbled on the treats, Yoongi lingered nearby, his presence a silent reminder of the tension between us.
But just as the atmosphere threatened to grow heavy with unspoken emotions, Jungkook appeared, his camera slung over his shoulder as he approached us with a grin.
"Hey, (Y/n), mind if I take some photos?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "My photography class needs shots of dancers, and I thought you and Jimin would be perfect."
I nodded eagerly, a surge of excitement coursing through me at the prospect of being photographed by Jungkook. With a playful grin, he led us to a secluded corner of the studio, away from the prying eyes of the other students.
As Jimin and I struck a pose, Jungkook's camera clicked away, capturing every graceful movement and expression. With each snap of the shutter, I felt myself growing more confident, basking in the attention and praise from Jungkook.
But amidst the flurry of activity, Jungkook pulled me aside for a moment, his expression serious yet tinged with a hint of nervousness.
"Hey, (Y/n), can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice low and hesitant. "Alone?"
Curious, I nodded, following him to a quieter corner of the studio where we could speak privately. As we settled into our seats, Jungkook's gaze met mine, his eyes searching for something in my expression.
"I-I wanted to ask you something," he began, his voice wavering slightly. "Would you like to go out with me? Like, on a date?"
As Jungkook's words hung in the air, I felt a rush of uncertainty wash over me. Despite the flutter of excitement at the prospect of going on a date with him, I couldn't shake the lingering doubts and unknown feelings I had for Yoongi.
Before I could respond, however, a voice cut through the tension, causing me to turn in surprise. It was Yoongi, his expression unreadable as he approached us with determined strides.
"Sorry, Jungkook," Jimin said, his tone firm as he addressed him directly. "But (Y/n) can't go on a date with you."
I blinked in confusion, caught off guard by Jimins sudden intervention. Before I could protest, Jimin took my hand in his, his grip gentle yet firm as he led me away from Jungkook.
"Jimin, wait," I started, my voice filled with uncertainty as I glanced back at Jungkook, who looked equally taken aback by the turn of events.
But Jimin didn't stop, his pace steady as he guided me towards a quieter corner of the studio, away from prying eyes and curious ears.
