7: A Ming Guan Temple?

Xie Lian hyperfixation is back!!!!

As the mysterious person disappeared into butterflys, they left one behind. 'What the heck? Why did he leave one behind?' Xu Mao asked.

You shrugged, making a humming sound. "Xu Mao..., do you know if they are the ghost groom?" You asked. 'He isn't the ghost groom.' They replied bluntly. You hummed. "I see.."

The butterfly then flew past you, flying past a Ming Guan Temple. "Huh? Pei Ming? Didn't they say that they don't have Ming Guan temples?" You double looked to make sure you were not hallucinating.

'You're not hallucinating.' You scoffed. "Yet I still hear your annoying voice..." 'You little...' You approached the temple, ignoring Xu Maos complains.

You looked up at it before shrugging and finally going inside, there wouldn't be that much trouble ahead, would there?

"Ew...it stinks.." You grumble, nose scrunching up as you cover your nose with a sleeve. It was all dark inside the temple, yet still somewhat clean.

As you observed it more you saw something odd behind the statue, you raised a brow and decided to go further. "Oh." 'Oh.' You and Xu Mao said at the same time. You rolled your eyes.

In front of you were standing corpses of the previous brides. You walked past all of them, approaching the last bride. '17 brides..' you hummed in acknowledgment and as you were about to raise the last brides veil, the singing from before appeared again.

The wind picked up and you became more aware of your surroundings, looking around. You heard steps from outside. 'Not good..' Xu Mao grumbled. "Crap.." You muttered under your breath and decided to stand across the last bride, disguising yourself as another one of them.

Whatever it was, it walked into the shrine and was approaching you. Rou'ye, sensing danger, quickly struck. The dark dust flew away and with a quick gasp you followed it out of the temple.

Yet you were to slow and it hurriedly disappeared as you heard voices. 'Who in the heck-' grumbled Xu Mao in your mind. You could tell they were annoyed. Reasonable.

You let out an exhausted sigh as you saw the men that were assulting the nice lady before. You looked up and glared at them, crossing your arms.

At your glare they quietened down. "Don't worry mam, we're here to save you! We won't let the ghost groom hurt you again." Said the leader. You furrowed your brows in disgust as he came closer to you.

You raised a brow and put your head up higher, as if looking down on him. "It's a Ming Guan Temple!" Said one of the men behind him. "I've never actually seen one before!" Said another.

They started chattering and getting closer to the temple. You glared. Stupid mortals. Xu Mao scoffed in your mind.

"You need to stay away. I'll do my work, so go back unless you want to get hurt." You spoke coldly. And only now did they realize you were a man due to your voice. "You are- a man?!" Yelled the leader in shock and approached you to hold the fire to your face.

You scrunched up your nose and stepped back a bit. You did not appreciate fire getting shoved onto your face at all.

The men blinked in confusion. "I-Its you!" He yelled in shock, finally recognizing you. "W-w-where is the bride?" He stuttered. You scoffed. "I am the bride." You kicked the ground angrily. But soon perked up as you heard the comforting voice of Xie Lian.

"Qin qin! Im sorry Im so late.." He smiled apologetically and approached you from behind, resting his hand on your back. You blushed and Xie Lian watched as your ears turned red with an amused smile, Rouye quickly hiding inside his sleeve.
