Mirror

I am a mirror
When I reflect yourself to you
Do you fear?
What you're looking at?

Am I toxic to you?
When you see what you truly are
What will you do?
Now that you see yourself

To me, I see
A world of possibilities
Your light
You are the night
And the soothing seas

I know you do not see
How much you mean to me
But in all the various ways
You're heart, it does betray

I know you feel inferior
But to me, it makes it clearer
That the beauty you relay
Spawns from your display

Within the mirror

You are a mirror
And when I see myself within you
Do I fear?
What I am looking at

Yes, because within me
Are things as ugly as they could be
And I feel so less a person around you
You're the only thing that keeps me glued

I swear, it's true

But to you, I am a fire
Heart ablaze with pure desire
Yet I lack the self-worth to proclaim
You're the only one that could douse this flame

And I'm to blame

My heart has always been a fighter
My memories avidly blurred
But a tender touch from the tender waves
May be indeed what my heart has always craved

I love you as much as would be legal to say
A love as strong as mine would not be easy to fake
Because the heart never lies in love, my beloved
And this heart in particular has you that it covets
