Stained Glass Church

Take me to the stained glass church
Where the ministers covet a curse
A steepled building of runaways
Sacrifice their lives today

Lead me to an empty pew
Behind the darkness, well there lies you
All dolled-up in a velvet suit
A catalyst of divine pursuit

Beneath your feet grounds melting away
The finale is underway
A boiling vat of misguided souls
Release their hold as the bronze bells toll

"Come along to be cleansed of sin
And let your new life of hope begin
The Lord does bless those who accept His word
Open up and you shall be heard"

I frown at seeing such people mislead
I sit alone slowly shaking my head
Though it sounds like he could make you complete
He is a criminal man of deceit

But they follow his glib like mindless sheep
Unaware of the secret he keeps
A sinister tension surrounding me
As I turn just in time to see

The man of riches and hollow truths
Holding a point of wood in pursuit
There he takes the life of the child-lamb
There has never yet been such a scam

To divide the dark within light
He calls the shadows up tonight
Souls depart and the people fall
This was the work of the Devil
