Aaron Hotchner x new!Girlfriend!Reader

A sweet little bit of fluff to make me feel better after a long night of  homework and projects

Aaron Hotcher is a stern man with a position at the BAU and two guns on him at all times. His position as the chief is little more than expected due to his track record and accolades. At home, Jack's only hint of the job his dad does is thanks to how tired he pretends not to be after a long day. that....and the family they have both found in the other team members of the BAU.

Y/N Harrison teaches at a Christian private school on the other side of town. She attends church every Sunday and Wednesday with her small family. She is exactly what you think of when the term 'sunshine personified' is thrown around: bright, bubbly, loud (but in a good, welcoming way that makes everyone feel safe), happy, kind, caring, and so much more. Her own children, twin four year olds, were adopted when they were but six months old. Millie and Maddox knew exactly what their mother did for work, down to the lessons she had planned for her second grade class, because they were still too young for school. And had a play area inside their mother's classroom, from which they overheard every word. Whether or not they could understand them was a whole other argument.

It should stand to reason that two adults with such polar opposite lives would never cross paths. But that sinply isn't the case in our little story. As it turns out, this story actually begins when the two DO meet up. Whether by happpenschance or destiny, I shall let you, dear readers, decide.

It had been a Saturday like any other.

Y/N had woken before the sun to make what she dubbed her 'Full Diner' Feast. This was a breakfast she had only started making when she adopted the twins, and their pediatrician expressed concerns that they were severely underweight. It consisted of all the classic diner breakfast foods, piled high on seperated trays like those in the school cafeteria. (The twins hated their food touching, and it made them sick on their stomachs if it ever happened)

After breakfast, the small family cuddled on the sofa and watched a few episodes of barney intercut with an episode or two of odd squad. Such was the life when your son loved Barney, the dinosaur, but your daughter enjoyed the antics that the agents of the odd squad got into in every episode.

When the time drew nearer to the twins' usual eleven am lunch, Y/N had them help throw together their normal Saturday picnic, to be enjoyed at the park on a soft blanket before they were allowed to play until they were ready for their early-afternoon nap. Once she picked out the comfiest, softest blanket from the hall closet, Y/N took the kids and the picnic to the car, and away they went on their normal weekend outing.

The sun hung high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the park as Aaron Hotchner strolled through with his seven-and-a-half-year-old son, Jack. They had just finished Jack's soccer game, and now they were enjoying the leisurely pace of a Saturday morning. The grass was green and inviting, dotted with families picnicking and children playing.

As they approached the playground, Jack's eyes lit up with excitement. He tugged at Aaron's hand, eager to join the other kids running and laughing. Aaron couldn't help but smile at his son's infectious enthusiasm.

Once they reached the playground, Jack wasted no time diving into the fray. He ran off to join a group of children, his laughter blending with theirs as they chased each other around the swings and slides.

Aaron settled onto a nearby bench, content to watch Jack play. But his attention was soon drawn to a pair of young children nearby – twins, by the looks of them. Millie, a lively girl with pigtails bouncing as she skipped around, and Maddox, her equally energetic brother, his face flushed with excitement.
