Ch. 8: Dance Dance Mayhem Part 1

In the colony, Thad was waving goodbye to all of his friends in school as the day an to an end.

"Hey, Thad, wanna hang?" A drone asked him.

"Maybe later. I got something to do." Thad said as he headed towards the doors.

'Okay, you got this. Just head out to the spire nest, tell Uzi about the dance, and invite her, N, and V to come.' Thad thought.

It shouldn't be too hard... hopefully. It's not like they were going to kill him, at least Uzi and N won't.

V on the other hand...

"That girl needs to chill on the killing." Thad said to himself as he arrived at the exit doors of the colony.

There was really a flip of a coin on if she would or not.

"I'm sure at least N and Uzi will want to come." Thad said to himself, walking through the cold.

After a couple of minutes, Thad had reached the spire and walked inside without showing any fear.

"YO! UZI! N! YOU HERE?!" Thad shouted out.

Hearing his shouting, Uzi's screen flickered as she turned on.

"What?" Uzi muttered, looking down to see Thad searching for her. "Thad?"

Unfolding her wings and unhooking her tail, Uzi allowed herself to free fall to him before using her wings as a parachute.

She might not be able to fly but she can at least glide

'Getting better at least.' Uzi thought.

"Uzi!" Thad said before hearing something, looking up to see Uzi gliding down before she landed next to him.

"Hi, Thad." Uzi greeted.

"Uzi, hey! Did you just come from the ceiling? That is so cool!" Thad compliments.

"I know but let's save the chitchat, why are you here?" Uzi asked him.

"I came because I had to ask you a question, something a bit important." Thad said.

"Okay, shoot." Uzi said, crossing her arms.

"There's this dance at school coming up, a little something to celebrate the end of the school year, and I was wondering if-"

"ARE YOU SERIOUSLY ASKING ME OUT ON A DATE?!" Uzi screamed in shock as she blushed a bit.

Uzi had no idea how to respond to this! She had never been asked out before! Much less by a good looking and popular drone like Thad! Not to mention that she was "dead" to the colony, how would this work?!

"What?! No no no! Not like that, I mean you're cool but I was wondering if you, N, and V wanted to come!" Thad said, blushing and waving his hands around.

"Oh, uh... I'll ask them." Uzi said, losing her blush.

'Kind of feel stupid now, thinking it was an actual date.' Uzi thought before looking up and seeing V and N were sleeping.

"Better get climbing." Uzi said, walking to the wall.

"You still don't got flying down yet?" Thad asked, walking with her.

"I can glide." Uzi said, turning her hands into blade claws.

'I won't tell him about the hovercraft yet.' She thought.

"Gliding is cool too. I read online that humans do this thing called "hang gliding" and it looks freaking awesome!" Thad said before watching Uzi climb up the wall. "I'll tell you more about it later!"
