I put my heart in a box,
A long time ago,
Tried to make it like the rocks.I locked, chained, and buried it.
Tried to make it go,
Down into the deep dark pit. With the ball and chain,
Tried to suffocate my heart,
Hide away my stain. But all I did was,
Rent this broken thing apart,
Show what my heart does.Lord God, would You
Open my heart,
Make me anew.Lord, I need You,
In every part,
Far overdue.Lord God take away my rocks,
Open the deep darkened box,
Empty what was forever
Only to return: never.
Would You come and make me new,
Come open my heart and do,What You always do,
Come do it in me,
God, I want to be,
Made new out of You.

Poetry/Prayers to God (2024)
SpiritualLast year I began prayer journaling, then a month later began the 2023 version of this writing "Poetry/Prayers to God (2023)" expressing my prayers and struggles with God through poetry. This will be much the same, but written this year (2024).
