"Morning, Y/n," Jimin greeted as I walked into the kitchen.

"Morning, Jimin. If it smells this good, I can't imagine how amazing it's going to taste," I said, sliding onto the chair at the kitchen counter.

He chuckled and handed me a glass of milk, his signature eye smile making it all feel like home.

"I'm troubling you a lot, aren't I?" I asked softly.
"You've cooked for me, set up my room, helped with my college admission... seriously, thank you, bro."

Jimin paused, then looked at me with warmth in his eyes.
"You're my sister, Y/n. So what if we have different parents? Family isn't always about blood. And don't ever say you're troubling me."
He placed the breakfast plate in front of me and smiled.
"I'm honestly just glad I'm not alone in this house anymore." He said.

My heart warmed at his words, and for the first time since arriving, it truly started to feel like home.

Later, at the university-

"So, this is your class," Jimin said, stopping in front of the door.
"If you need anything, just call me. I'm always here for you." He flashed me a reassuring smile.

I smiled back and nodded.
"Thanks, Jimin."

"Alright then, see you later!"
He waved before heading off down the hallway.

I turned around and stepped into the classroom, choosing the third seat in the fourth row-by the window, my favorite spot. The room wasn't crowded yet. Just three other students quietly minding their own business.

With time to spare, I pulled out my phone and opened a fiction novel I'd been meaning to finish. I quickly got lost in the story, the classroom around me fading into the background.

"Miss Park Y/n? Miss Park? Miss Y/n?"

The sudden rise in volume yanked me out of my fictional world. I blinked up, startled, to see the professor staring straight at me.

"Y-Yes?" I stammered, heat rushing to my face.

"I've been calling your name for five minutes. Where's your mind?" he asked, eyebrows arched with disapproval.

"I-I was reading... a novel," I admitted, offering a sheepish smile.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, hawk-like and observant, before sighing.

"Alright. Just make sure you pay attention next time."
He motioned for me to sit back down.

I nodded quickly and sank into my seat, cheeks still burning.

First day of college... and I already embarrassed myself. Perfect.

As I made my way to the cafeteria, a girl suddenly approached me. I won't lie-she was stunning. Long hair, warm smile, and the kind of confidence that made people naturally gravitate toward her.

"You're Y/n, right?" she asked, stopping in front of me.

I nodded.

"I'm Yumi. We're classmates," she added, extending her hand.

I reached out, shaking it a little nervously. The moment our hands touched, information flooded my mind-she was a total extrovert, adored by her parents, surrounded by friends, and currently crushing hard on someone named Namjoon. (A benefit of my powers.)

"Let's be friends!" she said cheerfully, looping her arm around my neck like we'd known each other forever.

I gave her a small, awkward smile, letting her lead me toward the cafeteria.
