About a week had passed since the tension-filled conversation between Adam and Chase. The air was thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions as the bionic siblings navigated through their daily routines.
Leo had returned from his time with Tasha at Mission Creek, and he wasted no time jumping back into his role as mentor. He did, however, throw a small tantrum after discovering his snacks had been eaten. With Davenport still away, Leo unfortunately took charge of the training exercises, saying that they owed him for the snacks. Bree anxiously joined him in leading the training exercises, aiding the students in developing their agility but also because she did not want to see Leo crack the foundation of the island...again. He was only at yellow a few weeks ago, after all.
Meanwhile, Chase and Adam found themselves drawn to the sparring mat, seeking solace in the familiar routine of combat. As the bionic brothers circled each other, the tension between them palpable. Their movements were fluid and precise, each anticipating the other's next move.
"You've actually gotten better" Chase remarked teasingly, his breath coming in short bursts as he parried Adam's plasma grenade strikes with his laser bow staff.
Adam grunted in response, his focus unwavering as he countered Chase's attacks with a surprising precision. "You're not too bad yourself. I almost forgot how small and fragile you are," he quipped, a hint of amusement in his voice despite the seriousness of their exchange.
Their sparring session continued in silence for a few moments, the only sound the rhythmic clashing of their fists and weapons, and the occasional scrape of their feet against the mat.
But as they exchanged blows, a sense of unease lingered in the air, the memory of their earlier conversation weighing heavily on both of their minds.
Finally, Adam broke the silence, his voice low and hesitant. "Chase, about what happened the other day..."
Chase tensed, his movements faltering for a split second before he regained his composure. "Yeah?" he replied, his tone guarded. His force field glitch and nearly caused him to take a plasma grenade full force.
Adam hesitated, unsure of how to broach the subject without causing further tension between them. "I just wanted to say...I'm sorry if things got...weird," he admitted, his gaze flickering briefly to Chase's before returning to their sparring.
Chase's expression softened, a mixture of relief and uncertainty flickering in his eyes. "It's okay, Adam," he replied, his voice softer now. "We both said things we didn't mean." He drew his laser bow staff back, preparing to hit.
Adam nodded, shuffling his stance as he processed Chase's words. 'I mean...I meant it.'
"Yeah, we did," he finally agreed outloud, an insincere smile on his lips. "But we're brothers. We'll figure it out" he declared while a light blue electrical current started creeping up his arms.Chase returned Adam's smile, a sense of warmth spreading through him at the reminder of their bond. "Yeah, we will," he echoed, a newfound determination settling in his chest.
"Im still gonna kick yoiur ass though" Adam announced before blasting Chase across the room. Chase landed in a heap on the floor, groaning. Adam smirked and turned away to unzip his mission suit, the sparring session officially over. As Chase sat up, rubbing his sore side, he couldn't help but watch Adam's retreating figure. Adam had ditched his vest and allowed the top half of the one-piece base layer to hang down by his hips. Chase took notice at lack of the usual undershirt. His brother's back was broad and strong, muscles shifting smoothly beneath his tanned skin. Chase's gaze lingered for a moment longer than he intended, a swirl of conflicting emotions churning inside him, among other things.
"Damn, Adam," he called out, pushing himself to his feet. "You didn't have to hit me that hard."
Adam turned back, a playful grin on his face. "What can I say? You were asking for it," he replied, hands held out in a 'how you like me now?' manner.
Chase's breath hitched in his throat. Adam's front was perhaps even more perfect than the back. From his large defined chest to his toned torso, he was the picture of strength. Chase bit his lip.
'He could knock me out in one punch' Chase thought. Suddenly, the blood was rushing down below. 'Shit why does that turn me on?? He has always manhandled me, and it has always been annoying.' But as Chase thought back to all the times he was tossed around by his older brother, trying to remind himself of how irritating it was to be thrown around, any annoyance that was once there was replaced by a deep churning in his loins. He felt his forcefield flicker around him in an unfortunate glitch display, and Adam looked on inquisitively, interpreting it as an invitation to continue their simulated combat.
"Oh Chasey, are you saying you want round 2?" He strode over quickly, mission suit still hanging off his hips. He picked Chase up by the vest effortlessly with just one hand.
"A-Adam what are you doing??" Chase asked frantically, squirming in the air as his boner pressing tightly to his leg. Mr. Davenport didn't lie when he said these suits were skintight.
Adam laughed and tossed Chase back to the mat, oblivious.
"Well, you'll have to wait for tomorrow. I am off the clock. I'll be sure to toss your small, doll-like body around some more tomorrow though."
Chase lay on the ground, his chest heaving with exertion as he tried to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside him. He felt a surge of embarrassment wash over him as he realized the extent of his arousal in Adam's presence, his cheeks burning with shame as he struggled to compose himself.
But try as he might, Chase couldn't shake the lingering sensation of Adam's touch, the memory of their playful banter fueling the fire burning within him. As he lay there on the mat, alone with his thoughts, he couldn't help but wonder what tomorrow would bring.
