The two of them used any cleaning supplies available to make sure their secret would never be discovered. Once everything looked spotless, a new issue arose.

"Adam, where's your towel?" Chase inquired, frustration evident in his voice.

"uhhhh...upstairs. Why?"

Chase planted his forehead in his hand, exasperated.

"You didn't think to bring it down with you?"

"Hey, you dragged me down here. Not my fault I got excited to get laid," Adam laughed.

"Yeah, well you ripped my jeans, dumbass... Now I don't have clothes either. How the hell are we supposed to go upstairs? The others are probably going to be back any minute!"

Adam scratched his head, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Uh, yeah, I didn't really think that far ahead..."

"I'm not surprised." Chase sighed, scanning the room for any possible solution. "Well, we can't exactly stroll through the tunnels like this. And we definitely can't use the hyperlift again without clothes, lest we wish to make a grand entrance in the nude."

Adam stood there, processing. Maybe he wanted to be caught. He wanted the world to know he loved Chase Davenport. Was it so bad? Bree already knew, after all.

"Our mission suits!" Chase exclaimed, interrupting Adam's rumination. Chase rushed over to the weapons area and grabbed his Elite Force suit, vest, and boots, as well as the matching set made for Adam.

Adam took the one-piece base layer in his hands, running his fingers over the black and blue fabric.

"Mr. Davenport used your biometrics to create your new suit. I was going to save it as a surprise for later to officially welcome you to the Elite Force, but...I'd say now is the perfect time to try it on," Chase explained with a small smile.

Adam bit back a surge of emotion at the gesture as he hurriedly put on the new suit, admiring how the fabric seemed to mold perfectly to his muscles and curves. 'Still skin tight, Mr. Davenport? Doesn't help a guy with no underwear,' Adam chuckled to himself.

Once adequately dressed, the boys used the hyperlift to return to the penthouse, where they saw that the rest of the team had returned home.

Adam grabbed his phone which was previously abandoned on the couch with the towel and noticed all the missed texts from Bree.

Bree: "We just got back you better not be fucking in the bathroom so help me"

Bree: "Adam is this your towel where tf are you answer me now"

Bree: "OMG please tell me you aren't doing it in Mission Command we WORK there ewewewew"

Adam smirked and locked his phone, acknowledging the team with Chase and graciously accepting compliments on his new mission suit. He also eagerly accepted the doggy bag that was brought for him.

Bree pulled Chase aside, giving him a knowing look. "Alright, where and what do I need to disinfect?"

Chase blushed deep crimson in response

"I don't know what you are talking about," he replied curtly.

Lost in their conversation, they didn't notice Kaz and Oliver popping out of the hyperlift. They didn't even see them go down.

Bree smirked at Chase, patting him on the shoulder. "Im just glad to see you're not so lonely anymore," she quipped before turning away with a wink.

Chase bristled and tried to shake it off, but he was secretly happy to have his sister to confide in.

Kaz held up a pair of what appeared to be blue jeans, ripped and torn at the seams.

"We went to check on the status of the other superheroes in Mission Command and found these. Who exploded?"

Skylar raised an eyebrow mid-chew and Bree'e eyes widened as she turned her head to face her two brothers.

Adam smiled innocently, unaware of the awkwardness. "Ah, pants. One of life's greatest mysteries."

After a pause, Kaz and Oliver shrugged and tossed the fabric aside while Skylar resumed her leftovers. Bree and Chase exhaled a sigh of relief. For once, Adam's simpleton mind helped the situation.

Chase sat down to start eating what the others brought for him when he stole a glance at his brother. Adam's eyes met his, and he gave a gentle smile and wink. Perhaps one day, they wouldn't have to keep their feelings a secret.

Chase sighed, finally ready to acknowledge his feelings for what they are, even if it was just in his head.

'I love you, Adam Davenport. I'm sorry I never said it out loud.'

Glitches weren't always convenient. In fact, they were usually anything but. They caused force fields to malfunction and sweaters to get holes burned in them. Yet in that moment, when Chase's Override App glitched in the most perfect way, allowing a brief, silent communication with Adam, it felt like fate itself had intervened. There was no possible way Chase misheard it; Adam's response rang clear as a bell in his mind, a perfect sound leaving him with a warmth in his chest and a hope for the future. Maybe, just maybe, everything would be alright.

'I love you too, Chase. Always.'
