Crystal origin 🔬

In the laboratory, two scientists could be heard working away at their prized invention. They studied very hard so their invention can be perfected without any consequences or conveniences.

The thing they were working on was shiny and it glowed every once and a while, but it would shut off at some times which aggravated the two scientists quite a lot.

"Tripmine. Quit poking the crystal, it's not finished." Medkit ordered Tripmine as he quickly stepped away from the unfinished invention. He chuckled and folded his arms. "You clearly haven't planned this out throughly enough, you're doing this all wrong!! This part goes here.."

Tripmine pointed at the small crystal, Medkit followed his finger and attached a micro-glowstick into the crystal, the crystal started glowing a bright shade of green. Their eyes glistened in awe as their invention succeeded.

The first ever crystal made in blackrock.

Tripmine scooped the crystal into his hands, unaware of how fragile it is. Medkit pulled Tripmine by his arm and carefully picked the crystal out of his hand, he glared daggers at him.

"You know how delicate this is, drop it once and it'll shatter." Tripmine knew this, yet, he was so ecstatic about their success in this, it was too much for him to keep in. He just wanted to sprint around the lab and tell everyone what they just completed.

Medkit cautiously scuffed the crystal into a container that had a soft surface, he slowly put the lid on with extra-security. He then turned to Tripmine and folded his arms, he knew how touchy and hyper he was even for an adult, he had the hyperactivity of a 8 year old. Not to worry though, he helped out quite a lot with their new crystal.. it was green like Medkit's horns. They originally made the green crystal for extra healing purposes considering Medkit was a natural healer this crystal would be handy.

But what about Tripmine?.. he hadn't decided what he wanted to use the crystals for.. but once he decides they would make a pink crystal to match his horns.. it would be perfect.

They would change Blackrock for the better, it would become a better and more powerful environment.. no.. it WILL become a more powerful environment.

<Medkit POV>

Me and Tripmine planned to continue making crystals tomorrow, we were exhausted considering this project took about a good few months. I'm still astonished on how well this invention went, I expected it to fail considering it was our first attempt..

Tripmine is a good partner and scientist I'll admit, yet, his childish and annoying personality aggravates me. It especially pisses me off when he starts pleading me for essential things that he can purchase himself, who does he think I am?

Whatever. I'll just go to sleep, I guess?.. I just hope he doesn't stay up throughout the night making unnecessary shit again.

I walked out of the lab, Tripmine barely noticed that I left since he was very occupied on his tasks. I strolled to my dorm room.. 096.. the door number.

Quickly, I scanned the keycard and slowly opened the door, it creaked open. It was loud, but not loud enough for anyone to hear.

The room was dim, it was too hard to see so I searched for a switch. Once I found it, I switched the lights on. It flickered hard, the lightbulbs must be running out but that's not my top priority right now.

I head to my bedroom, it wasn't that far since this room was very small. I take off the covers of my bed and slowly crawl into it, it was very cold but the bed made the temperature a little more durable. Slowly, I shut my eyes waiting to loose consciousness and fall into a deep sleep. I was so drained out but I couldn't get to sleep..

I tried counting sheep, it was childish but I heard it worked. As I expected, I didn't fall asleep.

I had this problem every night, which results in getting a daily amount of 2 hours of sleep. In addition, I have to deal with Tripmine. How unlucky I am.

After several hours, I passed out. My body couldn't handle it anymore. Unfortunately, it was already morning by then..

When I woke up, I barely remembered what happened last night. Well, I can't say it was last night considering how late I slept.

I checked my watch, it was 5 am. Work was in an hour, I had more time to rest..

I laid in bed, silently waiting for time to go by.. seeing how time-wasting this was, I got up and walked over to the bathroom.

I got myself ready very early, we had to start on the next crystal.. I didn't feel like staying at home to pass the time so I headed to the laboratory.

....

The door slid open, Tripmine was of course in there. He loved his laboratory, he slept there most of the time. It was like his home, he wasn't very hygienic or healthy in general..

"Good morning Meddy!" He called out to me as he was already working on the crystal. He was too eager to start on it, I'm guessing.. typical. I walked over to him and watched closely on each move he was doing. I don't expect him to be the cautious type, he could make a mistake at any given time which would force us to restart the project.

I do not have time to restart.

I grabbed my tool box from the shelf, I opened it to reveal all my supplies neatly ordered inside. I grabbed my utensil and helped Tripmine out with the crystal. It's not like I had a choice.

Tripmine looked over to me, I could sense his large smirk painted on his face. I hated the way he smiled at me, he would always tease me if I do anything nice to him. Phuck him and his face..

**Time skip**

It's been 4 months.

The pink crystal was completed. It took less time than I expected, since, the green crystal took around 6 months.. Tripmine was leaping for joy he had a big smile on his face but.. this smile felt genuine.. not an evil smile or a teasing smirk.. just.. genuine happiness.

I never seen Tripmine this joyful.. it made me change my thoughts on him.

This isn't important though, we're now going to test out the crystals.

The purpose for these crystals was to help us with our main ability. I heal people, Tripmine poisons them. We have our differences, yet, we have one goal.

Well.. I have one goal. Tripmine has his mind fixed on something else.. I'm not sure what. All I know is that it's not good, considering his crystal helps him with poisoning others. He certainly has a bad habit with inflicting pain on people..

Forget it.

I picked up my crystal and gently held it between my horns. Once I let go, it floated. The crystal glowed between my horns, it was magical.. it shined brightly too.

Tripmine stared at it in awe, he was pretty happy with the results..

He hastily grabbed the pink crystal and hovered it between his horns, repeating the actions I did. The crystal did the same as mine, successfully floating between his horns. It shined a bright shade of redish pink.. matching the colour of his horns.

Once this crystal activated, I felt.. stronger.. less weary than before.

I felt great.. despite living on 2 hours of sleep.. this crystal was overpowered.. too overpowered..

It seemed like it would cause some side-effects.. but we focused hard to not cause errors on these crystals so I wasn't too worried about it.
