"This is the report about the incident that happened four days ago."

Secretary Kang handed the envelope that contains confidential information regarding about the abduction of the young master of the Alonzo Clan.

Alexus scanned the documents. "It seems like they are really eager to get rid of him," he said in a tone which sounded like he doesn't care.

"I believe so, my lord." Secretary Kang wanted to said something but he shut his mouth. It's not something that he can carelessly say. However, it looks like his Lord is thinking the same thing.

"Is there any information about his stepmother?"

He shook his head. "There's no direct evidence that involved her in this incident, my lord. However, if I'm going to give my opinion in this matter, I believe she's the one who instigated this incident."

"Of course, she is."

Secretary Kang felt the chill running down his spine when the Lord spoke. He can't help but pity the woman who is being targeted by such a monster.

"What do you want me to do, my lord?" he asked, calmly.

Alexus put down the papers he was holding. He rested his elbows on the table and put his chin on his clasped hands. Secretary Kang kept quiet while waiting for his decision.

"Tell them not to do anything and just continue what they are doing. It's not yet the time to move. We're still missing something."

He nodded. "I'll do as you say, my lord."

He bowed a little before excusing himself to go out of his office. When Secretary Kang opened the door, he was surprise to see the Mistress who was about to knock.

"Mistress," he said. "Are you here to see your father?"

Instead of giving him an answer, Penelope just rolled her eyes at him. She even pushed him to the side and walk inside. Secretary Kang felt like crying because of Penelope's attitude towards him but when he remembered who he was, he lifted his chin proudly.

'Nope! I won't be defeated. I am the most trusted aide of Lord Aragon. But, it hurts being ignored by the Mistress...'

Secretary Kang's shoulders feels heavy. What should he do for his Mistress to forgive him?

"Daddy!"

He just watched his Mistress run to her father before he finally continue walking out of the room. When the door closes behind him, he notice two maids walking towards him. They are holding trays of desserts and two coffee mugs.

"Are you going to bring that inside?" he asked.

The two maids bowed a little to greet him before one of the maid answered him. "Yes. Mistress Penelope wants to have a snack time with the Lord."

"I see. Don't forget to knock first."

He left the two after that.

While walking in the peaceful hallway of the mansion, he can't stop thinking about the situation that Lord Aragon is involving himself with. A lot of things are happening and it's making his head ache. Though, he understand why his Lord is very invested in the Alonzos.

Secretary Kang came into a halt when he notice a familiar figure beside the window. He don't know why but he instictively hide behind a wall as he secretly listened to the conversation she's having with someone on the phone.

"Yes, I know. You don't have to keep on reminding me... Don't do anything stupid! If you do, I will really kill you!... I'm being careful..."

He doesn't understand what the conversation is about but he knows that this person is very suspicious since the very beginning. He watched the person's back as she walked away. Secretary Kang adjusted his eyeglasses while thinking of that person's background.
