Ch_27 Subtle

(Sooha's POV)

I yelp, jumping slightly, when a tray is harshly slammed down on our table, creating a loud bang which yanks me out from my thoughts.

The person responsible drops down on the seat beside me and starts eating with a neutral face, like everything is a normal thing. Heeseung seems a bit confused but he keep quiet. And Eun, on the other hand, covers her mouth dramatically.

"What are you doing here?" I scowl at him, forgetting that my crush is sitting on the other side.

"Can't you see?" Felix side eyes me like I am the dumbest person in existence. "I am eating."

"That's exactly what I am saying! Why are yo-"

Felix pushes a big slice of apple inside my mouth, successfully cutting me before I can finish the sentence.

"Just eat quietly." He winces with his mouth full. "You are too loud."

I glare at him, my cheeks swelling due to the apple, I really want to curse but cannot. The soft chuckle beside me pulls me out from my anger. Suddenly I remember the other boy beside me. My cheeks redden, getting embarrassed.

Eun giggles, amusement swirling in her brown orbs. It is clear that she is enjoying this a little too much. I glare at my bestfriend, she was suppose to help me in this kind of situation. She notice me and shows her tongue a bit, as if saying 'not my problem'. I glare at her again.

"Sorry. I forgot you are here." I mumble out, rubbing my nape, wanting desperately to reverse back time to two minutes ago.

"Don't worry." Heeseung shakes his head with a fond smile. "My younger sister acts like that with me all the time."

I smile sheepishly at that. Does that mean I am sister zoned?

"This thing isn't my sister." Felix scoff, making a sound of disapprroval. I whip my head at him. Did he just refer to me as a 'thing'?

"Oh." Heeseung flickers his eyes to Felix and then back to me. "Then are you guys a..."

"Absolutely not!" I snap back to Heeseung, who got a bit startle by my sudden outburst. I hear Eun muffling a snort.

"I mean, we are not anything of the type you are thinking."

I calm myself down, I do not know why I reacted so strongly to it. Maybe because I do not want for Heeseung to misunderstand. Yeah, that must be it. Then why did I unintentionally peek at Felix after answering it.

"Oh. Sorry if I offend you guys." Heeseung chuckles awkwardly.

"Its okay." I smile at him with a shake of my head and I heard Felix scoffing on the other side before abruptly liftting his lunch and walking away.

"Yah! Just what is his problem?"

I mutter in annoyance, concealing the sinking feeling inside my chest, which becomes more and more heavier the farther he walked away, and trying to mask it with the glare I send his way.

But it seems that I am not doing a very good job, seeing the not so subtle look Eun that gives me.
