(Sooha's POV)
"The nerve he has! Can you believe it!" I fume exasperately, brandishing my spoon to show how agitated I am right now.
Eun looks at me, studying me carefully. She places her chin on her free hand, chewing her food thouroughly. Though it is hard to believe, if she wants she can be really calm and wise sometimes.
"Are you sure you don't like him?"
I whip my head upwards, pausing my filled spoon midway to my mouth, unprepared for such a question. I abruptly close my jaw, a little too forceful, when I realise it is open.
"O-of course not!"
Why am I stuttering? The past me would have scoffed or cringed at such a ridiculous question.
"Why are you even asking such a stupid thing like it would ever happen?" I roll my eyes, feigning normalcy as I continues shoving my rice.
"You know, all you talk about is him doing this and doing that and also..."
She intentionally drawls out and I keep my ears fixated on her next words. I hate how she is making me feel like a thief waiting for the judge final words.
"For the last two weeks, you have never mentioned Heeseung once, they guy whom you are practically infatuated with, the guy whom you used to rave about everyday every mintue."
"Do you think this counts as normal, sweetie?" She says with a sweet smile and I paused, staring at her wide eyed. The rice suddenly taste bland.
I must have look like a deer caught in spotlights because she gasps loudly and covers her mouth, like she have discovered a gaint secret.
"So it is true! I was just assuming!" She squeals. "Oh em gee! My ship is sailing!"
"Shut up!" I widen my eyes again when I realise what she has done, desperately attempting to quieten her down.
"Yeah I speak about him! So what! That does not mean I like him!" I do not realise how loud my voice is until I notice all the attention I have earned towards our table.
"You like who?"
A familiar voice comes, but it is too good to be true. I whip my head back, unable to trust my hearing. But it is true, Heeseung is standing right behind me, his plate in his hand. I gape my mouth, everything that was in my mind flies away just like that.
"Hi Sooha." He greets, smiling so charmingly as always.
"Hi." I smile back at him, it is almost impossible not to reciprocate it. But I cannot find the giddiness I always felt whenever I saw him before. What is wrong with me?
"Sunbae, do you mind having lunch with us today?" Eun chirps shamelessly, smiling sweetly.
I gawk at her. Didn't she just try to set me up with Felix a minute ago!
"Sure."
I thought he would decline but his answer catches me off guard. I look up at him but find that he is already looking at me, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
"Only if that's okay with you."
I heard Eun squealing under her breath while nudging me below the table. I might have blush heavily if it was me from two weeks ago but now I have no difficulty in ignoring her.
"Yeah sure." I shake my head. "You can sit."
"Thanks."
He smiles again before taking his seat beside me making me fluster a little, because it is a first time a boy is sitting so close to me. Other than Felix, of course. I suddenly realise, even after not seeing him for so long, I never feel uncomfortable around him. But why?
