I lay on the floor re-reading the letter Nathan had written me. Gemma was in the background of my hearing singing 'Honeymoon Avenue' by Ariana Grande and I laughed. She was really looking forward to every act at the Coachella. "What you laughing at?" she asked as she walked out the bathroom with a towel around her head. "You!" I replied folding the letter back up and putting it back in the envelope and placing it in the little pocket in my suitcase. She shook her head and took the last sip out of her cup of tea, and looked very content within herself. "Why did you wash your hair if we're going to the pool you absolute fool!" She looked at me. "oh shiiit" She laughed and put her hair in a high ponytail. "At least I don't have to dry it now." She glared at me unhappily. "Why aren't you ready?" She groaned and lay on top of me. I laughed. "I am! I have my bikini underneath this, I got ready before you even woke up!." She smiled. "Good! Leggo to pool!" I shook my head at her and got up off the bed grabbing the bag we had designated to take down to the pool. We left the villa and walked down the steps to the pool that was practically our own.
I lay our towels on our sunbeds as Gemma went and bought us drinks from the bar. She came back with the largest glasses that I think she could have possibly found. "Gemma...what on earth! It's 8am and you're on the vodka already?" she shook her head. "guuuuurl this is for later. We got Fanta lemon for now." I smiled and took the Fanta lemon and place it on the table next to my sunbed. Eventhough it was 8am, it was still around 42 degrees, which to us English is extremely hot. I rubbed the suncream in on my as I knew if i didn't I would be burnt to a crisp in the matter of seconds. I took my bikini cover up off and walked straight into the pool and smiled. It was at just the right temperature to cool me down but not freeze my tits off. I looked at Gemma who had now got tangled up in her cover up and was screaming because there was a bee in her bikini. I burst out into laughter and ran out of the pool and tried to help her but she was too busy flapping around for my to actually help her. "FUCK IT!" She yelled and ran straight and jumped into the pool. I gasped in horror and laughed jumping in after her. I landed next to her the water splashing her. "LAUREN!" she yelled and I battered my eyelids innocently. Gemma, had only recently learnt to swim so now to her she was a pro swimmer, and in my eyes she was too considering 2 days before she couldn't even bare to set foot in the water.
The music was playing, Gemma and I were laid around the pool and we were loving life. "Gemma?" I asked turning my head to her. "Yup?" She asked looking at me over the top of her sunglasses. "What if we permanantly moved to America? I mean I have nothing left in England to go back to, and my sister and parents could come and visit...I think it's just time for an adventure.." She smiled and nodded looking back at me. "You won't believe this but I was just about to ask you the same thing." I smiled. And so we agreed there and then that we would go back home, let our parents know our decision and pack our belongings and move to America. All of a sudden, there was loud screaming coming from outside our apartment. I looked up and our gates opened up. "What in god's name." All of a sudden a man, around 5" with curly hair stumbled into the apartment. I got up and put my cover up on and walked over to him. "Can I help you?" I asked smiling. He shook his head nodding. "No, no, actually...is this your apartment?" He asked, I nodded and smiled at him. "It certainly is!" I laughed softly as Gemma walked over to us. "I'm Nathan." He spoke and I froze and looked at him. I knew, I knew him. "I'm...Lauren." I spoke tilting my head to look at his reaction. He reacted the exact same way I did. "Lauren?" I nodded and smiled. "Nathan?" He nodded and smiled. "OH MY GOD." Gemma whispered as loudly as she could. "I don't know whether i'm stating the ovbious here, but Lauren, is this the guy you've been penpalling for ages?" I awaited for the reply off of him so I didn't look like a complete fool. He confirmed what I thought from when I heard his name.
I squealed wrapping my arms around his neck. I heard him chuckle as he leant his head on the top of mine. I had waited so long for this moment, yet it seemed so surreal that I didn't believe it. "Lauren...he's...he's...he's.." I unhooked my arms from around Nathan's neck and looked at Gemma tilting my head. She held up my phone to me and I froze. He sang. He wasn't just a plain, simple Nathan. He was Nathan Sykes. "You didn't know?" He asked me and I shook my head. "Nope, but I do now." He smiled. "Lauren, this doesn't change the way I feel for you, when I wirte to you, i'm not 'famous' i'm me. I'm plain, old me. I want you to remember that from now on okay?" I nodded and smiled. "I will...it doesn't matter what you say or do, i'll always think of you as plain and simple Nathan anyway." I winked at him. "Fancy a drink?" Gemma asked him, and he nodded.
After we had all settled down I ended up getting far too hot so I went for a dip in the pool. Gemma and Nathan were over at the bar chatting and I smiled contently. What could be better than this? The guy I had been waiting to meet for ages and my best friend all in one, beautiful place? Nothing could get better than this. Absolutely Nothing.
