Raph could barely sleep that night.
He couldn’t tell if it was from excitement or worry for your well being. How hurt were you? Who hurt you? So many questions and not enough answers, but thankfully he has a genius brother.
With a grunt he gets out of bed and makes his way down to Donnie’s lab. He gently knocks on the lab door before walking in.
“Hello Raph. What is it you want?” Donnie asked not to turn in his chair to face him. Raph rubbed the back of his neck and wondered if this was really appropriate to do. He didn’t want to invade your privacy… but he really wanted—needed— to see what happened. Even if you were going to tell him tomorrow…he’s just so worried. The connection he feels with you was on another level, almost instinctual.
“I need ya to look into somethin’ for me.” Raph approached Donnie, causing Don to turn in his chair to face his eldest brother.
It wasn’t often that his older brother came to him to ask a favor, it was something that he could tell Raph avoided at all costs. So if he needed something, then it was incredibly important to him, that was a fact. And Donnie loves facts.
“Sure. What is it you need?” And Raph went on to explain that he needed him to look into the front cameras of canter middle school. When Donnie asked why Raph looked away, a bashful look on his face. Ah.
Clicking on Donnie’s key board filled the awkward air. With a quick swipe of his wrist a hologram appeared, the footage being exactly what Raph wanted.
Well, if he wanted to see you get your ass handed to you.
“Who’s that?” Raph pointed to the man who put his hands on you. Some more clicks before his photo appeared on the screen next to the hologram. “Thomas Johnson, CEO of a genetic company, recently divorced and has one kid. Got arrested yesterday for battery. Though it seems that he’ll be released tomorrow.” Raph nodded his head, absorbing the info like a sponge.
“Ya think ya can hack it so we can hear tha audio?” Raph's eyes flickered to his younger brother, and Donnie looked at him like he was stupid. “Right, let me just hack into the camera to get audio that may or may not exist! Sorry if that sounded like sarcasm, here it is.” Raph rolled his eyes at Donnie. The video played again but a very familiar voice rang through it as well as a not so familiar one.
“They’re monsters, they don’t belong and should go back to the pits of hell where they came from.”
Raph tried not to flinch as did his brother, he placed one of his hands on Donnie’s shoulder. A small gesture yet always was effective.
“Excuse me!! How dare you.”
If Raph wasn’t attached he was now. It was such a simple gesture, one that should be a no brainer. And yet… the fire in your voice made him almost melt into a puddle of goo.
Donnie, on the other hand, was almost impressed. For you to stand up to a man double your size had to take some guts even if it was incredibly idiotic. And somehow you’ve gotten his brother wrapped around your finger.
The man continues and says that mutants and yokai are a waste of space, this enrages you even more.
“No people like you are a waste of space. Who judges those based on what they look like, you are what’s wrong with his world. They have done nothing to you, especially a child.”
They could feel how upset this man was making you and it made Raph bite his lip in worry. You did say that he “got you good” after all.
Then the man screamed.
