I was watching TV on the couch before the house phone began to ring, making me jump. I quickly got it before my (parent) woke up, "hello?"

"Hey, uh, is (f/n) there?" I swore I recognized this voice, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions. "Uh, yeah, this is her; why?"

"It's Stan," he cleared his throat, "Stanley Uris. Uh, Bill just called me and told me to pass this on to you. Beverly needs our help. She says it's an emergency."

"Uh, alright, I'll be there; do you know the address?" He repeated it as I wrote it down. "You live by Staff Street," he continued after a short pause. "Uhm, yeah, I love being a block away on Strawser."

"If you want, I can take that route and pick you up." He said it slowly. "Oh, you don't have to," I tried to deny. "Well, she said it was an emergency, and it would be quicker if you rode with me."

"Okay," I finally agreed, "I'll be outside my house. Thank you, Stan."

"Anytime." He hung up.

Waiting outside was exactly what I did for about 5 minutes before he stopped in front of my house. "Uhuh, your ride awaits." I chuckled and hopped on the back.

We ended up meeting the group while riding to her house. We all talked about what it could be before we parked and saw her nervously speak to us, "I need to show you something."

"More than what we saw at the quarry."

"Shut up! Just shut up, Richie!" Eddie shouted back. "my dad would kill me if he found out I had boys in the apartment." She explained before Bill cut in, "We'll leave a lookout. Richie, sss-st-stay here." Everybody began to get off their bikes and run up.

"Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, what if her dad comes back?" He shouted from behind us. Stanley turned around and said, "Just do what you always do; start talking." I smiled and ran up the fire escape with him.

We all entered through her window and walked down her erie hall, "it's through that."

An ominous door stood there, "what is it?" Bill asked, "you'll see." Beverly's reply didn't calm my nerves as we were stepping in. Eddie gagged saying he knew it, as I stood in terror. The room was red and scented with metallic as blood dropped off every appliance. "What happened here," Bill asked. "My dad couldn't see it, I thought I was going crazy."

"Well if you're crazy, we're all crazy..." Ben mumbled. "We ca-an't leave it like this."

Bill stepped inside and we got to work. I smiled as I watched Stan clean the window, seeing him move in a snake formation. He glanced at me before smearing it all up, embarrassed.

"I'm out of soap," Ben says. "I can get it." I stood up from the floor and stepped out of the bathroom. I reached under the bathroom sink and pulled out a bottle of Dawn. As I turned around, Stan stood behind me and I flinched. "oh! Hey."

"Hey.." he whispered. "Did they need something else," I asked, holding out the dish soap. "Uh, no, I just wanted to talk to you."

"Oh... About?"

"Uhm... I never thanked you for giving me back my kippah. So, thanks..."

I nodded and gave him an awkward smile. Just like that he turned around, "do you not like me?"

"What? What do you mean," he looked back at me confused. "Ever since the barrens, you've been trying to keep me away from you and the group."

"It's not like that..." He said playing with his gloves. "Look, you're a really cool girl, (F/N), I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of you."
