Weeks, almost a month passed without speaking to Beverly, Eddie, or Bill. The others I've met on occasion but never made plans with, except for Stan. After going to his bar mitzvah, we both silently made it official. We went to the park sometimes, the arcade, even seeing Richie.

Sometimes I would see Ben at the library or Mike at the Deli; we would talk about whatever happened for a while and walk away.

After waking up today and getting dressed, I found a large red spot on my underwear. I sighed and checked my drawer; nothing. The bathroom is nothing. Even in my (parent)'s room, nothing. I decided to head to the pharmacy, using toilet paper as a quick fix.

As I walked in, the bell jingled, and I made my way to a familiar aisle. I grabbed what I needed and headed to the cash register. As I recognized Greta sitting there, I paused. I didn't want her to see me getting these. I waited before hearing the jingle of the door opening again.

After a few seconds, I heard the pharmacist ask, "Here for the refills, Eddie?"

My eyes widened as I peeked around the corner, Eddie, just to make matters worse. I rested my head on the icy-hot shelf as I wondered what to do. "You know it's all bullshit, right?" Greta glared at Eddie. "what is?" He questioned her.

"Your medication; they're placebos."

"What does placebo mean?"

"Placebo means bullshit... No friends, huh? Your cast. No signatures or anything? So sad."

"I didn't want to get dirty."

"I'll sign it for you."

I looked around again and noticed Greta approaching Eddie with a marker. He groaned as he quickly ran out of the store. I caught a glimpse of the word 'loser' written on his cast. I scoffed as I glanced back at Greta, who smirked and sat back down. Without thinking, I grabbed a marker from the office supplies next to me and ran after him, not paying for my (period item).

I noticed him wipe his face as I looked down at his arm, fleeting down the sidewalk. I finally built up enough nerve to shout, "Eddie!"

He paused and looked back. I stood still for a moment before jogging forward. "How's your arm," I awkwardly asked. "Uh, good, thanks." I noticed how red his eyes and cheeks were, it was clear he was upset. "I saw what Great did. To your cast, I mean."

He glanced at it again before shrugging too, "it's whatever."

"Then you wouldn't mind if I drew on it too?"

He looked hesitant, but slowly lifted his arm. The word 'Loser' is becoming more visible. I sighed before putting my supplies down and opening the marker up. I carefully crossed out the 'S' and placed a 'V' above it. "Lover?" He looked down at it.

"Lover." I confirmed. He met my eyes and smiled, "Thanks (F/N), I needed this..." I nodded and patted his shoulder. "You deserve it, Eddie. You've been through too much to stay a Loser."

He chuckled before he walked away, we waved goodbye as I went the opposite way.

After finally getting home, I sighed, and laid on the couch, after going to the bathroom. I smiled at myself, feeling better about my situation.

The phone began to ring, startling me. I stood up with a heave and answered it, "Hello-"

"It got Bev," I heard who I think was Richie. "Richie? Uh- what?"
"Call Stan and Ben, I'll call Eddie and Mike. Meet us at Neilbolt." He hung up and I just nodded to myself. "Fucking Neilbolt," I muttered, dialing Stan. I explained what happened to him, calling Ben as I waited for Stan to pick me up.
