"Dee, me gwan a work," I said as I grabbed my purse.

"OK," Dee replied, looking up from her phone.

"Where we a meet up fi buy groceries?" she asked.

"Come round a mi workplace cause mi fully booked today. Mi have three nails fi do today," I explained.

"OK," Dee nodded.

"Bye," I said, heading out the door.

"Bye, Dee," she replied, waving me off.

📍Angels Plaza, 7:30 AM

"Good morning," I greeted my colleagues as I entered the salon, but no one replied.

"Ok, great start," I muttered to myself, brushing off the lack of response.

I made my way to my station and began prepping for my first client, who would be arriving shortly.

Shortly after, she walked in, and I greeted her warmly, ready to start the day off right by giving her a flawless nail treatment.

"Can I take a picture for my Instagram?" I asked.

"Yasss, bae," she replied enthusiastically, While taking out her purse to pay me.

9:30 AM

My second client of the day arrived; she has been a loyal client with me for more than two years.

"Hey, gurl," she said as she entered.

"What's up, Zoe?" I responded when she took a seat.

"So, what do you want me to do for you today?" I asked her.

She showed me an image she wanted me to recreate, and of course, she had to throw in something difficult for me to do.

Three hours later

"Kia, wanna go get lunch with me?" Zoe asked

"Sure," I answered, and started packing up my station.

"Where do you want to go and get food?" she asked.

"Not sure, but I am kinda feeling for Sakura ," I said, grabbing my purse.

"OK then, let's go," Zoe agreed, and together, we headed out for lunch.

We reached and ordered and collect our food.

And while eating, we were catching up on each other lives.

Zoe said her boyfriend proposed to her last week and she said yes.

"Omg gurl and you didn't think of tell me this earlier" I asked

"Am sorry boo, I just got caught up"

"So kia, how's your love life?" Zoe asked

"Single like a pringle" I said

"Gurl when are you planning to settle down" Zoe asked

"No time soon, remember say I have to take care of Dee"

"Ok whatever you say Kia, by the way how Dee-Dee" she asked

" Same as ever" I said

We continued eating our food a little after I went back to work to do my last client of the day.

"Good evening," my last client greeted as she entered the salon, and I returned the greeting.

She showed by want she wanted and I began working on them.

As I finishing up her nails, Dee arrived, taking a seat nearby.

"I'll be done soon, Dee," I told her as I was finished up.

"Mhmm," she replied.

After completing my client's nails she took out two five thousand dollar and told me the rest is for tip.

"Thanks Booo", i replied

I cleaned up my station and got ready to leave work for the supermarket.

Dee was listening to music when I approached her and told her I was ready.She grabbed her school bag, and we left the salon.

3:36 PM

At the supermarket

"Pick up the 24-pack of tissue," I said to Dee.

"Why are you getting the 24-pack?" she asked.

"Because I don't know when we'll be back here," I explained.

In the meat section, I noticed the price of shrimp had increased from $1250 to $1560. Them theif yuh fuck ," I muttered to myself.

"Do we need anything else?" I asked Dee while putting the shrimp in my cart.

"Well, nothing I can think of," she replied.

"Do you want anything for yourself?" I asked.

"No, I'm good," she said, So We headed to the cashier.

"Good evening, are you ready to check out?" the cashier asked.

"Yes," I replied.

After scanning everything, she told me the total was $23569.00.

"Card or cash?" the cashier asked.

"Card," I replied, handing it to her.

After paying, we left the supermarket, we were waiting in the parking lot for the taxi I had chartered.

"Are you alright, Dee?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay," she said, though I could tell she was lying. But I decided not to press her further.

The taxi arrived shortly, and we headed home.
